Most Best Buy's and Gamestops Sold Out Of Demons Souls

If you still have not had a chance to purchase Atlus' PS3 exclusive RPG Demon's Souls, you will probably have a hard time getting it now since most GameStop and Best Buy stores around most area are sold out! Calling numerous GameStop stores across the nation, they've stated that Demon's Souls is sold out and has been since its release last Tuesday. As many people are eager to get one of the best RPGs on the PlayStation 3, is it too late?

Just Push Start has talked to a manager of a GameStop in Michigan and he is telling us they have no word of receiving more copies of Demon's Soul's as of yet. Could this be another game that will elude gamers? Many of you know that Atlus is one of those game companies that have limited disbursements of their games.

Didn't pre-order the game? Seems you may be out of luck, you will just have to wait for a used copy to pop up, or hope that your store receives more soon. Could we expect the same thing with Uncharted 2?

Note: It only applies to retail stores and not online stores.

Well lets look at it logically. The games probably didnt buy very many copies. Why? Because most good PS3 games dont sell well. PS3 games in general dont sell well. Maybe if more of the 6 billions Cows here every once in a while decided to buy one of the good games they hype nonstop things would be different.

what is justpushstart? i've never heard of the site....and where is their source?

Going into 2 stores in your area.....isn't much of an indicator of all stores...

Edit: lol and they talked to a manager of a gamestop how many copies did that store get? 10? lol When you don't offer enough copies to stores selling out isn't a good thing.

How many did the stores get in stock though? I remember my local Gamestop selling out of the expansion pack for Medieval 2 only because they received a mere five copies for their store. :?

Anyways, I just checked 3 local Gamestops on their website and each reported having stock. So... :?

Isn't it a bit early for the sales hype? Normally at this stage of the cycle we wait a bit. We won't get numbers for a whole month, its probably best to hold off on anadotal gamestop evidence.

uhh...uncharted 2 is not by atlus. why would sony limit the copies?

Amazon still has both versions in stock, if you pick it up I'd definitely recommend the Deluxe Edition as the soundtrack and strategy guide make it well worth the extra $10.

My local GS only had 2 copies. The DE I pre-ordered and a normal one for one of the workers there that was going to buy it if it got good reviews. This game will be like Valkyria Chronicles review and sale wise.

Anyone who knows Atlus knows that they only print a limited amount of copies of the games they publish and localize (usually only a couple 10's of thousands) based off of general pre-order interest from stores. Demon's Souls got a slightly larger print run however the word of mouth for this game is way higher then any other game I'm seen from Atlus. It most likely will sell out and force Atlus or Sony themselves to do a larger scale print run. Demon's Souls will never sell a million+ seller unless Sony themselves or a bigger company get involved.

I'm assuming Atlus wanted to play it safe-- there was no telling how America would react to Demon's Souls.

I'm sure not many copies were made for NA-- Demon's Souls is a niche title, no?

I got my copy and do hope that more people pick it up. Of course, I'm talking about the ignorant masses of gamers who don't know anything past Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

Why does that matter? I really hope you are not trying to discredit 2.5 million in sales.

I just went to try and rent Demon's Souls and the only copy there was already rented. Usually new released have 3 or 4 copies to rent. I guess it's not expected to sell all that much, due to the difficulty factor.

The question isn't "can I name a more reliable site", the question is "is there a reliable site to use"and the answer is no. VGchartz is a disgrace. They steal their numbers from other websites, fail to form competent algorithims for their tracking (because ioi doesn't track properly or even attempt it), and are absolutely lowly in the way they operate. The idea that VGchartz is worth using is simply absurd. I will not take anyone seriously who uses their numbers. I would rather have no numbers at all than false numbers that the website runner tries to propogate as an alternative to real trackers. There is a reason the creater was ban from Neogaf and that website is ban on other forums.

I was addressing the part about games selling well besides Gears and Halo. Doesn't matter to me personally if it equals the PS3 version.
