Even if the Wii didn't have motion control I would vote for it's controller. Just being able to have your hands lay down by your sides is such a benefit IMO. So what do you guys think?
Before you disagree with me, have you tried the Wii remote?

I'd agree about the Wiimote, but it's not really even comparable to other controllers. For traditional ones, I'd vote for the 360 and Gamecube controllers. Miyomatic
I agree. Don't you think it would also benifit from a similar design? I can't think of a reason not to.

I would always hope for improvement, no matter which console I was a fan of.
I liked the GC controller last gen.(in terms of comfortablilty, not button layout).
This gen I like the Wii remote/nunchuk combo and the 360 controller.

I loved the button layout of the GC remote. You didn't have to think to much because of the shapes. I rarely caught myself looking down.

Your not a fan of the console, but you want their controller forever. Strange.
I like 360 controller layout design, but I don't like the small analog sticks and circular d pad, I like the ps3 sixaxis, its very light and is like my favourite dual shock controller, the trigger l2 and r2 are nice improvements
i don't play the ps3 but I use it the controller as a gamepad on many games on the PC
I also sometimes use the dualshock and adapter for the rumble on the pc

man you need to chill out, I'm sure I'd like the six axis much more if i tried it =p.

That's fair. Have you tried the Wii remote?
360 over the Wiimote only because all the buttons are easily reachable, those 1 and 2 buttons on the wiimote are useless, plus the d-pad can be a little annoying in some games.PBSnipes
I'll agree with you there, but the ability to lay my hands to my sides outweighs your aformentioned benifits IMO.
Thats easy....the 360 controller feels like it was molded from a hand at its creation. and I hear the elite one is even better.

Iagree 100%. I use to love the PS one during PS1 but as I got older being on it for hours would kinda hurt my hands cause it's a bit smaller than my hands would like and the 360 feels so comfortable for my hands and I've played for hours on end and never hurt my hands really.
360 controller, tbh I don't like waving my hands alot. The PS2 controller was alright, I didn't like the thumbsticks on the same axis, but the PS3 controller is way too small and light.Captain_Waffles
I agree. Mind you I haven't played the wiimote but... you can't really use it for many of the games I love which have more complex button layouts and many things that need to be done. Like Call of duty which I am not interested in using by aiming etc...
but this is about comfortable talk I think the position of a controller is better than the Wiimote cause I think hold a Wiimote may get a little umcomfortable after playing it for hours like I would be doing while playing COD3 online. But ofcourse it is speculation on my part.
Personally I think the Wireless 360 is better than the wired one in terms of comfort cause it's too light and the wireless is a bit heavier with the battery and feels just right IMO

Hold on... one sec "stretches for about ten minutes"
Im going to have to go for the Wii remote. Its perfect for my hands and just like the OP said, you can move your hands freely which is really nice. Second would either be the 360 controller or the GC one. Though both have annoying D-Pads IMO. The 360 would probably win since it has 4 shoulder buttons, instead of 3.

nah, seriously thoughi love the dual shock, hate the sixaxis though, cuz it's too light, and i don't like movin' my controller for gameplay, but every other thing about it is ok. i also like the 360 controller followed by the original xbox. i liked that cuz it was just big enough for my big hands. i didn't really like the GC one cuz i hated the z botton placement and it cramped by hands up after a while,....and there weren't enough bottons on it, so games like nba streets weren't as good on it as they were on ps2.
