I know this was already posted in the PC games topic, but I figured I would branch out to all consoles. What's the most complex game you've ever played?

For me, EVE Online.

As much as I love RTS, those space RTS games are way too complex. Sin of the Stars for example, I cannot even move my ships on the tutorial mode, lol.

Possibly Europe Universalis III, although I've played some frustratingly complex space sims, too.

*edit* As for making this a Sytem Wars thread, aren't these responses just going to be filled with PC games anyway? :P

Honestly it's probably Pokemon. Competitive battling is a terrible beast.

It's funny too, because I'm playing King Arthur: The Roleplaying Strategy game and I find it easier to get into than high level pokemon fights - but they may because the latter devolves into a massive grind/ number game.

flight tower control sim. I forget the name of it though. It took me a couple weeks to become proficient at it; at which point i used my skills to make jets crash into one another.

I remember playing and loving Frontier: Elite 2 around 15 years back, I tried playing it a week ago and everything went completely over my head. All these new games have spoiled me.

I know I sort of mentioned it on the PC thread but Gun Valkyrie for the Xbox. I can't tell you how I have no clue how to even properly control my guy let alone traverse the levels..... yeah. That game was made for some crazy race of beings that are far more advanced than humans. That game is ridiculous.

Heart of Iron 2. Eve isn't actually that complex in itself, the complex part is what the players have built arround the game in the comunity.

Absolutely eve online.

I literally played for about 5 minutes, couldn't figure out how to move or find anything, saw about a million jillion menu options, and just went "ok nevermind then."

I think it would probably get pretty good, but I already play wow so I really don't have time to learn a whole new mmo, especially one that makes no effort at all to be accessable.

MS flight simulator 200* (I can't remember which year it was and I don't know where the box is :?), a bit intimidating when I first loaded it up but it was actually fun, I mastered flying upside down 8) ofcourse if I ever did fly a plane everybody would need to parachute to safety...

Probably Sins of Solar Empire or something like that. Although, I remember Baldur's Gate 2 could be pretty complex if you bother to learn all the different spells/skills.

If you mean Sins of Solar Empire, its actually pretty simple once you get into it. Definitely not the most complex game Ive ever played.

One of the more complex games I can think of would be Galactic Civilizations II.

That might actually be World of Warcraft. Either Vanilla in terms of raid content (getting 40 people to work together can bue surprisingly hard) or tbc/wotlk in terms of stat allocation.

Edit: Possibly Disgaea 3.

Brutal Legend was pretty complex at times, you had to handle so much in one go in the RTS segments (I don't like RTS games much nor play them), and you were doing it all with a controller.

To me, that's not complicated and it's only complicated if you're dealing with strangers. For the raids, I mean. And if you don't cookie cut the strategies passed down. Disgaea, I can see, being complicated though.

It's not complicated to me either but looking at the general population even in Cata....... Especially DPS can be quite dense about their performance while wearing resilience items and not being hit/exp capped.

It's not that it takes a legendary effort to understand but I just can't think of many other games that require equal amounts of homework (outside of practicing) to excell at.

What the hell is going on? Every 5 seconds it stops and ask for "plays" and gives people penalties and keeps trying to sell gatorade to me.

A lot of people that want to raid don't understand the work involved in getting their stats/numbers straight, capping certain skills and abilities, and having the proper gear, and being able to listen to the raid leader. They hit 85, and after a dozen heroics, want to throw themselves into the fray with little to no experience.

some RPG MUD back in the 90's. yeah you had to remember commands, the map(make your own), figure out puzzles using typing, make your own macros. it took a while to get good at that. Masters of Orion, this game was pretty complicated in that you had to deal with diplomacy, resources, technologies, ship design and more.

Still trying to figure it out, god dammit.

This definitely takes some time to figure out just what you're supposed to do. It's very easy to make one bad decision and screw up an entire battle, you could die really quickly if you're not planning ahead.
