Most Disappointing Sequel Ever?

this is a hard one but I go to have to go with MGS 2. Its not that I hated the game becuase I really enjoyed it BUT the real reason its the most disappointing is because MGS 1. I just played MGS 1 a few monthes ago and the game blow me away even with the PS1 graphics I didnt care I didnt believe what the MGS fanboys was talking about until I played MGS.So I was ready to play MGS 2 when I got finished with MGS 1(Inever finished the game cuz the second disc didnt work :cry: ) but it reallydidnt blow me away like MGS 1 didbut its still a great game. But I was really disapointed thatsolidus snake was no way as good of a villianas Liquid Snake. Im going to stop here because I go on for hours talking about MGS but what is most disappointing sequel to you?

Halo 2. After the hospitalising, cardiac arrest level of epic of Halo CE, Halo 2 couldn't really compete. Sad Really, that it's a beautiful game in its own right.

But when compared to CE? The essence of the word disappointing.

lol the first 2 u listed were improvements to me.....but I have to agree with L4D2 it was lame as hell same game with melee weapons

I cant really say much sequels cause most sequels r usually better for me.

I thought they did a great job with Call of Pripyat though. My only problem with CoP was the english voice actors! :lol:

Grand Theft Auto IV. It's rare that I super hype games beyond belief, but after the pure awesomeness that was GTA San Andreas I couldn't help but hype this as the second coming. Nowhere near as good as I expected. SA blows it away. It's still one of my favourite games this gen, but that doesn't mean it cant also be my most disappointing game this gen.

Megaman X5, 6, 7, 8. and maybe 4.

Mw2 left the biggest open door for another add on i history... really the main villian is only seen once.. and you kant even kill him.

Yes yes I coudnt honestly think of a sequal i have been dissapointed in but not gone on to really like, but yeh I got to agree Perfect Dark Zero was trash, such a lame launch game compared to Halo:CE. And it totally let down the original. Most dissapointing sequal ever goes to Perfect Dark Zero.

it's a prequel, not a sequel. SW should have some sort of intelligence test to get in.

Oh, come on! So whenever we talk about sequels, we're not allowed to talk about PDZ because it takes place chronologically before the original? Please, that's rubbish. We waited in anticipation for the game, which, even though it was a "prequel," it WAS a successor to the original... and we were disaappointed with it, so we're not allowed to bring it up in this thread?

I'm not gonna say of all time, but GoW3 disappointed me. The beginning was great, but it saddened me that only a few parts of the game were that epic. The final boss was very underwhelming too.zbdyx

I agree with you. Still think its a fantastic game, I was hoping for like one of the best games of all time.

I guessPrince of Persia 2008, although it was more of a reboot.

Ratchet and Clank CiT was a pretty big disappointment, I wasnt expecting it to be the best in the series, but it still left me pretty disappointed.

ehh, I wasn't dissapointed at all. I loved it. Finally a game that doesn't aim for you.
