90% of the population on these boards call themselves 'hardcore' gamers, and scoff at anything with less than 4 million polygons on the screens at once.

Wake up and smell the coffee, the ps2 sold because it offered games for every demographic at a reasonable price. Games were cheap. The ps2 had the weakest graphics.

The DS is selling because it offers games for every demographic at a reasonable price. It has n64 graphics to the psp's ps2 graphics.

The wii is selling because it offers games for every demographic at a reasonable price. It has xbox1 graphics to the xbox360's and ps3 graphics.

Moral of the story? Hardcore gamers that call themseleves that because they love to look at and talk more about games than actually play them, are just one small segment of this vast gaming populace.

The true mature 'hardcore' gamers don't write of games without playing them, don't judge a title buy it's graphics, NEVER put visuals beyond any other aspect. The 'hardcore' in this case only comes from the fact that they play games very often, any games, all games, to pass time, and to have fun.

And my wii is my second gaming platform to my pc, and I don't really play games these days much anyway, when you grow older you lose interest in things you once loved doing. So console insecurity is not a factor when you're 23 years old and struggling to pay the rent...

These are the things wrong with your post:

1) The number of games for non-casuals in the Wii compared to in PS3 or 360 is so low it's sad.

2) The PS2 didn't have the worst grapjics, GC did.

3) The PS2 got almost all the 3rd party multiplats once they came out, the Wii misses out on like 3/4 of them.

Now another point: I don't give a horse's crap how much the Wii is selling, if the supposed leader in the console wars is missing out on games that are all coming out for the less-selling consoles, I don't like that.

Actually the wii is the most sold console in the last months, in handheld the DS is winning, in general i think the DS is winning then comes the XBOX 360 the the PSP, PS 2 then the GBA outselling the PS3

To each is own , but I personally think the Wii is crap and so is the PS3

Um no and no.

If anything both the DS and Wii offer the least in variability between deep complex games and easy anybody games. If it would apply to every gamer there would be a lot more M ratings for games and a lot less E ratings. The PS2 had a balance between E and M ratings. There are way to many E games for both systems to say it applies to every demographic.

Show someone that only has a Wii, like my aunt, A PS3 game or a Xbox 360 game. And just watch, they wouldn't like it in any way, why? Because there not gamers in any way, all they want is a simple console with simple games, there not going to further the gaming world there just holding it back.
