Most over used word on System Wars

So this poll is pretty straight forward.Some wordsare just sooverrused to the point where it loses any validity or merit in any actual meaning because its just thrown out there without any thought as to if its really warrented. And by some extension you can consider which words by their overuse are also misused to their true meaning.

For me that would be 'overrated'. It's one thing to not like a particular game based on personal preference. But making that kind of judgement call that everybody else who likes it, and the journalists who rated it very well, are wrong in their assessment? Pure arrogance.

And it seems not one great game can escape this trap. Pretty much every AAA game both here and on Metacritic just has to be overrated. It's basically SW saying there are no AAA games on the mrket. Some people gotta realize and accept that many highly acclaimed games are that for a reason, and not just a random fluke.

How about the rest of you? What word can you just not tolerate seeing so just one more time?

I really hate the current youth slang terms like "epic" or "epic fail," or "fail."

Another over-used and mis-used term is "next-gen" to mean "current-generation." The term should be defined as the present generation of video game systems, as if "next-gen" is "current-gen," then "today" is defined as "tomorrow."

A side note: I do not know if this is due to my age (I am 35 years old), but it seems that youth slang is increasingly becoming more and more absurd and offensive (what is it with young people using derogatory terms for gay and retarded to mean "dumb"?).

Overrated mostly because of your reasons listed at the beginning post.

Graphics king because graphics are being recognized as automatically having good gameplay. A game using all the power and resources in the world would not matter unless the gameplay stands out. This holds true to a game like Lair, a beautiful disaster.

It's funny you should say that. I was originally gonna have Alan Wake for the 5th option :P:PBefore I recollected so many other words that needed polling, and again, more than could fit.

"Resolution" or "Sub-HD" was another one I considered, for how people place too much importance on it. Not that res doesn't matter, but many games have shown that it's more about striking a good balance between that and the many other graphicselements (texture, poly count, lighting, particle effects, etc...) to design beautiful visuals. And as always, the single most important factor being art direction :)

While I'm very bored with all the "graphics king" threads out there, I'd have to say that "overrated" is the most overused. And it's always place in relationship with the most-popular and well-reviewed franchises.
