Every FF game after VII, and even VII was essentially a large-scale rehash of FFVI which got attention because it had gorgeous CGI and spanned 3 CDs, showing what the Playstation could do. In terms of gameplay mechanics and an interesting plotline though, Square has essentially been plugging the same formula the whole series. For the life of me, I can't see why FF has continued to be so popular.
Everyone will just say FFVII, and I wholely disagree with everyone that does so, It was great really great so dont shun it and just go ahead and say it was overrated becuase its a liked game by millions and you feel cool saying you think it wasnt that great. Â

Well, I think VII has cool characters, plot and all, but I just think there are better games in the series, I'm not saying it because so many ppl like VII, since I like it myself but just not the best ever.
To be honest, I thought VII and III (for DS) were the only good ones. The voice acting in X was stale but teh hawtness of Yuna, Lulu and Rikku kept be playing.
FF7 and FF9 are extremely overrated. FF9 was just terrible in general, while FF7 was pretty good, its just it is most certainly not the greatest RPG ever like some people say
FFX, the cockamamie story really made little sense in the end, and I don't think I've ever wanted to physically hurt a video game hero more then Tidus.

My thoughts exactly.
His voice acting completely ruined the game for me.
Tidus: "I hate you" Me: "Oh for crying out loud, can you be any more ******* pathetic you mother******* pile of *****, grow some ******* balls!
