Most overused word in recent SW history...

REHASH- To bring forth again in another form without significant alteration: rehashing old ideas.

-old material that is slightly reworked and used again; "merely a dull rehash of his first novel"

-present or use over, with no or few changes

those are definitions of it from 3 different sources. i have heard this word misused far too many times. Super Paper Mario was not a rehash. not only was it only the 3rd game in the series, it is almost a completely different genre. it used only common RPG elements found in the other games. there were some 4 Ratchet and Clank games last gen, but were they rehashes? you could argue that one i guess because they were much more similar to each other than the Paper Marios have been.

the only game franchises i think are "rehashed" are the maddens (or any other annual football or sport game), the several versions of the Sims (those expansions arent worth $20 each), and those crappy generic FPS games that were a dime a dozen last gen.

i also hear people claiming rehash before games are out. people say GTAIV will be rehash just because the last 3 ones were similar, even though each new one brought a lot of new things. i also hear people say that once you have played Halo, you have played them all. well who the hell knows what those geniouses at Bungie are cooking up for us.

so stop using the word "rehash" because it is being whored more than the words "innovation" and "gimmick" have been since Wii was announced (btw, the Wii is in the middle of gimmick and innovation).

so sure SPM flopped it's rather high hype, but until you play that awesome game, shut your ignorent mouths about how it is "just like every other Mario game". btw, sorry for so much writing...

uhhh i accepted it flopped. i am hearing this word all over the place lately and it is annoying. and also, just like Zelda, this 8.8 is in the top 5 games of this gen for me already. this gen has been mediocre at best so far. and Nintendo has already put out 3 of there like 10 best franchises. (Warioware, Paper Mario, Zelda) but soon comes Pokemon, Mario, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Smash Bros., BWii, and many more.

 innovative is used about as much by sheep as lemmings/hermits/cows say gimmick but i hate both those words. they are polar opposites but it is good to have a balance of both...

yes but flop is for when a game fails to score what it is hyped. it isnt the games fault, it is the blind fools who just hoped their system had good games to brag about (by the way, i voted SPM high AA-lowAAA so i was about right...) 

It is VERY annoying listen to people say it's a rehash when it's the most far out there mariogame as of yet.
