Most powerful music in a game

Hi all... just wanted to know what would you class asyour most powerful music out of a game that really got you going not many people talk about music in a game but if a game has good music it really makes a diffrence.. well to me it dose but the music that got me going would haft to be the MGS theme i just love it and the dramatic music near the end of bioshock was good stuff as well.. :)

But I like Final Fantasy music, also, SOME sport games have a slightly decent collection (earlier tony hawks).

Final Fantasy series
Ace Combat 4
Zone of the enders 2 (remember this is one of hideo's masterpieces as well)
Devil may cry 1. The whole techno/goth musicmakes blade shake his knees at.
Star wars games. The intros!!
Shenmue 1,2. A game that will make you wanna learn another dialect cos its that beautiful

These are top of my head right now.

Halo has incredibly powerful music, and I also really enjoyed both the GRAW games.-Beowulf

Final Fantasy series, Chrono Cross, Halo series, Max Payne 2, Morrowind (opening), Shenmue (I can only think of 2 tracks actually)...Guild Wars had nice tracks too, umm, there's much more but that's what I can think of right now.....Oh, and Lost Odyssey's soundtrack will be awesome too.

Guitar Hero's name really condradicts itself when it doesn't even have song by Satch, Malmsteen, Petrucci or Vai. I'd go with FF7 in this case.

Halo 2's music put me to sleep...or maybe it was just the campaign.

Any game from the Metroid franchise.Without the wonderful and atmospheric music Metroid has,it just wouldn't be the same.

Eh forgot a classic Diablo 1 town theme

Oh Yeah Baldur's Gate, BG2 and Planescape:Torment all had fantastic bombabstic classical scores, great music in all of em.

Final Fantasy and Halo franchises also excellent for music.

It was in the original GRAW, if I remember right you just rescued the Mexican president and you must defend him from an incoming attack. When the battle begins everything is under control, but then the enemy picks up the pace. Instead of just gunfire and screams and shouts dominating your ears, the sfx go down slightly and orchestrated music starts up. As the battle gets to its climax, the music is also swelling into a big finale.

I thought that was the defining moment of the game. I had shivers down my spine. I literally felt for these soldiers being in such a tight spot. The contrast of the beautiful dramatic music overlapping such a violent and tense firefight was one of the most brilliant things I've ever experienced in a game.
