Most underrated game franchise?

What franchises do you think failed to gain the attention it deserved?

To start off the thread, I'm gonna have to say Heroes of Might and Magic!

Ace combat for me regardless, Assault horizon WAS NOT a 5.5 in any stretch it was defo a solid 7.5 its nowhere near as good as 5 but the online was pretty much perfect,story was servicable and DFM/Assited ground attack can be pretty fun in later on in campaign and online :P

it is and it isnt, onlines more fun, but the campaign feels a bit dragged out and at the same time a tad bit more relatable in some senses.The capital conquest mode is epic especially if you go a heli and people totally forget your dozing around taking all their base :P

Its a fun game but i think AC6 campaign is a bit better but both are as mundane as each other.Best campaign of an AC is defo 5 by a long shot, but Assault horizon definately has the better online and its easy gamerscore if thats your thing aswell ive got 630 or something out it without trying.

I would have to say Metroid it gets overlooked because of Mario and Zelda.

Saints Row 2, in my opinion, is one of the best co-op games ever made. Incredible amounts of fun things you can do with a friend. So outrageous, and hilarious. And all the character customization is crazy.

SR2 has gotten more attention and acknowledgement in the past year because of the coverage of SR3, but two years ago, when the game was new, everyone who didn't play it dismissed it as a junky GTA clone.

I think the Viva Pinata franchise is under rated to be honest. It has great potential and could work well with Kinect integration. Ace Combat got an 8 at Edge Magazine. I think to many gamespot scores have been inconsistent lately, and I find myself disagreeing with them more and more. Im not talking bias as thats well, just rubbish but my opinion is changing from Gamespots, if that makes sense lol!

The Mother series

The Tales series. Most people don't even know about it. The people who do know about it only know about Tales of Symphonia but don't know that it's part of a series.

I don't understand how this series is so unpopular, what makes it great is the really fun battle system.

I really hope Tales of Graces f is well received in the U.S. so that we get more Tales games in the future.

Metal Gear.. Prior to MGS4 it was nothing more than a niche, despite being some of the best games ever made. Even post 2008, its still not as big as it should be.

Skyward Sword got at least underrated at Gamespot,or at least by SW.

Skyward Sword will make games like Skyrim,Batman,Uncharted,Battlefield,Gears of Wars look 7 generation behind in terms of gameplay,creativity,innovation,intelligence,influence,fun and pure greatness..Skyward Sword will have such a earth-shattering greatness,that people will burn all Non-Nintendo games they have ever owned.Skyward Sword will be so out of this world ,that Sony,Microsoft and PC trolls will denounce their misquided fanboyism and become pure Nintendo supporter.
