Do you mean overrated?
I think he means being bashed to the point of being underrated. Similar to how Far Cry 2 and Assassin's Creed have been bashed, despite being good games with flawed design.I think he means being bashed to the point of being underrated. MGS4 at least here in SW. Great game when i played it. When I 1st played it I didnt even noticed the bad parts like some of the corny cutscenes. The gameplay in the game is what made it fun for me. The game is a little overdramatic, but if you can look past that its a great game.
I think I'm gonna say Halo Wars for this one if we're talking about a game that was under reviewed. If we're talking about games that're bashed severely without reason, I'm gonna say TES IV: Oblivion.

If a design is flawed enough, the game becomes bad. I'm going with Dark Sector.
Fat Princess-It did have it lag issues which caused some of the average 7.5 reviews but now that it's fixed it's an awesome little multiplayer game.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia: This game did get really good reviews, but I don't think people bring it up enough in handheld discussion. It's definately one of the best Castlevania's I've played.
Heavenly Sword-I wouldn't recommend buying it since it's rather short but the story and the universe is pretty cool. I loved the Sixaxis arrow firing. Now if only the framerate wasn't so choppy.
I still have barely started R&C: ACT, and I feel bad because it's pretty fun. It's just that I got it for Christmas along with AC2 and MW2 so it got overshadowed, along with Borderlands.

Brilliant game. I would say Crysis, because of all the "generic" and "great graphics, crap game" arguments that seems to pop up a lot on places like the Killzone 2 boards, but critically it was rated as highly as it deserved, so therefore I'm going to say Gothic 3. A game that was a complete mess at launch, but by this stage with the community patches has turned into an excellent, and highly underrated cRPG.Valkeria chronicles.
One of those below the radar AMAZING games.
Im assuming thats what you mean.

Good games don't have flawed design :|
Every good game has flaws or a bad design choice. Hardly anything is devoid of genuine criticism of some kind.I would say sonic and the secret rings by most of the critics and some of the users reviews. I totally agreed with GS review of the game, but I would have given it 4% higher at least. Some of the critics were given it 60%when it truely deserve higher. Some users were also given this game scores like 4.5 and 2.5 and werebashing on the 2D cutscenes and the controls to the extreme. I believed that the controls were annoying at first, but it took some time to get used to it and they weren't as annoying once you went to a higher level.
NIER, definitely. I don`t know what Gamespot was smoking when they complained about fetch quests. First of all, they are purely optional and secondly, money isn`t even that necessary.
Sure the graphics and presentation is pretty poor, but the story is probably the best this gen IMO.

I agree. I mean, it's nice that the game has such great graphics, but the reason I love Crysis (and Warhead) is the highly enjoyable, smart gameplay. And that aspect really doesn't get a lot of attention.

Yeah, but the design of FC2 was flawed to a point where I just couldn't play the game without being immensely frustrated all the time. So I'd say it's a mediocre game with huge potential and high production values rather than a good game.
Lol I hated that game so much.I would say sonic and the secret rings by most of the critics and some of the users reviews. Yeah I thought that was pretty good too. The gamespot score was probably about right. It's definitely the best 3D Sonic of this generation so far at any rate.I would say sonic and the secret rings by most of the critics and some of the users reviews. Anyway I would say Saints Row 2. It's a travesty that it hasn't got AAA scores pretty much everywhere. To this day it's still by far my favourite 360/PS3 game of this generation.

Then i agree.
GTA4 is easly a 9.5 in my books. A 10 might be too high but the game was damn good imo
Not sure if it counts as this gen, but Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault. Probably the best WWII game set in the pacific, and imo the the 4th best WWII game ever made.
More Recently: Risen (great RPG)
and Mafia II (mostly underrated by Critics who don't understand the game isn't trying to be GTA IV).
Didn't GTAIV score a 10 here? It can't rate any higher. Most underrated game is probably Halo Wars. No way that game deserved a 6.5 score. It wasn't "AAA", but I gave it an 8.0.I think its GTA 4

That game was never bashed. I believe it got a decent score as well. I thought it got what it deserved.Valkeria chronicles.

I agree this was one of my favorite game so far. The story, characters, and music was phenomenal. It deserves some recognition depite its flaws.
The only reason why Sins of a Solar Empire is barely mentioned is because it's way too slow paced for most gamers who are used to Blizzard RTS or Command and Conquer.I have said it before and i will say it again...
Sins of a Solar Empire.
Actually a critical success but outside the PC community many don't even know it exsists.

What? The reason it is never mentioned is because it is a game made by a small dev, with little if any advertising that was for a long time only available DD.
if anyone is "used" to blizzard RTS and C&C i say you aint played enough RTS games lol. It is talked about (or was) alot within the PC community.
my first play through of gta4 i thought it was an incredible game, there just isnt anything to do once u beat it, that was the major flaw, but i think it deserves a 10 because of the attention to detail and awesome physics engine
