hell yea even though the gameplay was basic it was very addictive and not to mention the masterful work Michiru Yamane did with the soundtrack.how many american versions of the games of the series are there...or what are the american versions cause i know a lot of them didnt make it out of japan, i think..Im just gonna say the entire Ys series.

Ys I through III and VI made it to the US. The rest were unfortunately kept in Japan. But all of them have unofficial translation patches and FAQs.
I doubt it's the most underrated, but Shadow the Hedgehog comes to mind. Why did Gamespot give it a 4.7? I actually found some of the levels quite enjoyable.

Anyway, I quite enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog. Why did gamespot give it a 4.7? Sure, there were flaws, but some of the levels are rather interesting. And you can always set goals for yourself by getting higher scores.[spoiler] It yields rewards, too. Completing every mission with the best grade unlocks an expert mode where you go through a harder version of every level. [/spoiler] I already

I've always wanted to try that. I used to track it ever since I heard about it in a magazine while it was still in production. I think I might go find a cheap copy of it somewhere.

Far Cry 2 was terrible. It deserves all the hate it gets.
I disagree. It had it's downfalls (mainly the repetiveness and the downgraded multiplayer) but I thought the game was pretty solid.
