Motion controls are good but sometimes you don't need these. If SSBB was purely based on Motion controls then it would fail, this a button-pressing type of game that requires good timing and precision, I understand that Punch-Out is no different.

I want good Motion controls and if you can't provide that and you have to tack them on to the game then just don't do it.

i prefer the best controls for every game and thats what they are trying to do.

on the 360/ps3 you ONLY can use gamepads even if the controls are stupid for specific game types like shooter ort RTS games.

run out of time or too expensive ? why they release so many unfinished HD games ? same reason

thats why they used the clasic controls for the better gameplay but that doesnt count right ?

It all depends how the devs use the Wiimote's potential. Unfortunately, alot of devs just tack them on.

The idea of the Wii remote was excellent, but its execution was rather half-baked.The technology is undeveloped, and the Wii remote itself is a pretty lacking shell. At least IR works perfectly.

Motion controls may fail in their current form, but the idea that they'll stay in that form forever is absurd.

It's not a big fail there are many games that work better with motion than standard controllers. RTS, Minigames, and sports games are better with motion controls to name a few. Motion controls are the future and as they get better which the tech will improve then they will be used more common in games. Until then it is nice being about to pick between the controllers.

ssbb didn't need motion controls. Mario kart could benefit from motion controls, but were a little unresponsive, but generally useable. Punch out being too difficult to complete when using the motion controls because of being unresponsive is fail. Punch out would benefit a whole lot more if they included motion plus support, and they could have bundled it with the game, massive fail on nintendos behalf.

Nintedo's main selling points are it's exclusive games, accessibility, and library of games via the VC. Motion control is complementary, not a main selling point, IMO. If it was a main selling point, EVERY game would have significant motion control.

Some games have run with the motion control and used it very well, Metroid Prime, Wii Sports, RE4.

I sometimes wonder if Mario kart is better with the motion controls than what us old school gamers will allow it to be. My son is amazing with the motion controls. He is amazing at avoiding weapons with the motion controls. Give him the GC control and he well sucks at using it. Well myself because I have played Mario Kart most of my life I gave the motion controls like 5 minutes and was back to my GC control because I was use to controls. Something to think about.

thats like saying that when Nintendo made the NES for its graphics and accessability, why didnt they perfect it before the release, and release the SNES instead? Motion controls are at the NES stage. I expect them to get better with time and I also expect the competition to adopt it.
