Thought I'd put in my two cents on all the motion sensing announcements from Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. I think Microsoft is trying to copy Sony's Eye Toy, Sony is trying to copy Nintendo's Wii-mote and Nintendo is trying to fix their broken Wii-mote.

I know motion sensing stuff is all the rage and Nitnendo's massive sales figures prove it. Certainly it is all about money and I can't blame any of them for going after the money but so far I don't see much fun in it. Microsoft's new add on seems a lot like eye toy and I can't say I've seen too much good going on there. Sony's new add on is apparently an add on for an odd on. I'm not so sure that's a good idea economicaly speaking (though I'm sure they'll have a bundle option). In any event, it really seems to mainly be a rip off of Nintendo's Wii-Mote which, despite coming with the console, doesn't seem to have been put to much good use in games thus far. So far I just don't think the Wii Mote has the precition it needs to be a viable controller for actual games which brings us to Nintendo's new motion sensing add on. Will it make the controller workable for more than just stick waggling games?

I know I just pissed off some fanboy from each of the systems but I wanted to give my two cents. I call 'em like I see 'em.

There are a ton of really good games that made good use of the Wii-remote... which fanboys just can't help but overlook...
