For games to score high on gamespot they need ALOT of hype, such as gears of war. Didn't work for Zelda. Zelda didn't have that huge hype train. Another example is Perfect dark zero LOTS of hype so it got overrated.
I doubt God of War 2 is going to outscore the original, so I'll say 9.2-9.0. The lack of online features and no offline multiplayer is going to kill Motorstorm, I'll say 8.0-8.5.

And how would you explain scores like 9.1 for galactic civilizations 2 which had virtually no hype whatsoever?

GOW2- from what i have seen does not seem to have built on GOW and even though GOW is one of my favourite games o all time i think GOW2 will only get 8.5-9.2. As for MS- who knows 8.0-9.0 is my guess
