Real link, I don't know if I buy it. If it is true, I hope MS lowers the price on stand alone HDDs to a more reasonable rate.

You can get 500GB Hardrives for cheaper than the current 20GB Xbox HDDs ....

Hell here in the UK I can nearly buy 2 for that price!

You can get a 350 gig SATA HDD for just a little more than what M$ wants for there 20 gig HDD. And the SATA HDD will work without a problem in the PS3 where with M$ you have to get there HDD at an outragous price.

yeah, I got a Toshiba 320GB HDD 2.5 SATA installed in PS3, cost me £90, and X360 20GB is £70.

also, I cant believe people are still buying into this whole 'supply issue' crap.

Personally I think they don't want you to be able to run game code from anything that can be connected to a PC and have data transfered back and forth. Once the system is cracked you have easy piracy (piracy that doesn't require mod chips is easy piracy imo) for anyone willing to grab a torrent and drag and drop files. The PS3 is holding out, but I think it won't be too long before someone figures out the file structure. Once that happens, its the dreamcast all over again. All you needed for that was a 50pk of CD-Rs and Easy CD Creator.

I was concerned about that too, however, when you think about it, Sony planned very well from the beginning. Even if people managed to exploit that aspect of the PS3, theres still the dauting Blue-Ray issue to overcome. I dont know about you but I really dont feel like downloading a 25-50gb file or paying a ridiculous fee to burn blue-ray discs.

Yeah.... every time something goes wrong, "it's cos we are so popular"... It's getting lame. They screw up with christmas subscriptions, the servers get overloaded and then "it shows that our service is very good".

MS is really screwed up, thats all I will say on that.

I can see them dropping the Arcade down to $199 and a $299 60GB. The Elite could drop down to $399 but with only 60GB being the difference would be a hard sell at 100 extra bucks, unless they make Wi-Fi standard in the Elite or bundle a game. Or they could drop the Elite down to $349 so that people would opt for that instead, which would probably have a better profit margin. They could also drop the 20GB HDD to 49.99.
