[QUOTE="-Sir-Poof-"]Why would MS care if bluray wins or not?Kayrod29Cows have yet to sink that into their heads, MS isn't part of the format wars. That's true, they only support HD-DVD but doesn't mean that they are absolutely against Bluray. They promote HD-DVD as a movie medium, not a gaming medium. gnutux
Blu-Ray is KILLING HD-DVD right now and M$ knows this, they are not going to put alot of money into a dead system.MGS9150**Cough** Xbox 1 **Cough**

let them think it matters. PS3 = low end blue ray player. Might as well have an dvd player with an upconverter for a fraction of the price. after comparing the 2, they look identical runnin on a 1080p tv. That is the ps3's blue ray player anyway.DoctorBunnyThe PS3's bluray player has actually gotten pretty good reviews from several audio-video enthusiast sites. I personally have a 56" 1080p set and I can definitely tell the difference between it and Bluray. It's night and day.

MS doesn't really support Hd-dvd they just stated that they feel it's what the consumers will choose in the format wars.
MS also said if the consumers choose something else ms will support that also.
It looks like ms is pushing digital distribution over both right now.Â
MS said they are ready to push blue ray if it wins the format wars.
which it mostlikey will since they have warner bros and disney now on their listÂ
MS's windows operating system is far out selling Sony's OS. So why is Sony not trying to push their computer operating system??? Same thing. MS does not make HD-DVD rybe1025does sony make a os?

What I meant was they can either choose to support it or choose not to support it. If they choose to support it , it requires M$ to spend money.
the reason i think hddvd will win is because you cant find bluray at walmart or target, shopko, cosco, sams ETC..casuals make up most of the percentge of the population.im sure casuals attend a bestbuy or circuit city once amonth on average and wal mart probably once a week.If they see one of the formats at a location there mostly at, dont you think theyll get that format?MS said they are ready to push blue ray if it wins the format wars.

MS's goal isn't to push HD-DVD.....Tulak_Hordwhy would they add the player in the first place and put up adds on xbox live for it?....

Because, at the time, HDDVD was winning, and microsoft wanted to give their customers the option of a HD movie player. If they really cared about the format war, they would have built one of the two formats into the 360.
