One is able to own the platform with the most highly rated exclusive RPGs this generation and still, by your criteria, not be a true fan.

Unfortunately, that will continue to fall on deaf ears. Plus, the DS already has an awesome library of RPGs and is expected to get some big titles like Dragon Quest IX.

That's true but I think they mean on consoles..........in which case Wii wins instead! Since it has about loads of RPG's coming out (not a fan of RPG's so if someone could list them for me I'd be grateful), plus it has all the old RPG's on the VC. Therefore it is the king.

you guys are trying to make this seem bigger then it is. look at the sales of jrpgs. the only ones that really sell are final fantasy and kingdom hearts niether of which has been announced as coming to 360. until we see either of these games on 360 sony will remain supreme of rpgs.-Renegade

So while you are waiting on FF which only thing you know about it is the name and some trailer shown a long time ago the 360 fans are getting a bunch of jrpgs and wrpgs.

More like JRPG heaven............. damn I wish they'd produce good old fashion western RPGs. Am I the only one who has had enough of the adrogenous, wooden, linear style of JRPGs. It's really starting to remind me of the WW2 setting for shooters that everyone was obsessed with just a short while ago.

Thankfully they have Fable 2 and Too Human, though I am going to wait for scores to pop in before I make judgements on whether they would be good or not.

the last remnant is still coming for the ps3 , it's a matter of 3 or 4 months .

star ocean 4 wasn't announced as an exclusive , if it were an exclusive it would have been announced at the MS premiere rpg event , think about it , what better occasion would they confirm it's exclusivity than a microsoft event in japan ??

tales of vesperia shouldn't be taken that seriously , since no one would buy a 360 just for this game .

eternal sonata is multiplat , blue dragon is mediocre , and lost odyssey -while being well crafted - is just another generic jrpg with an outdated battle system .

the 360 is definetly gaining JRPG momentum , but all it has to offer right now is either some multiplats , or some generic jrpgs

the ps3 on the other hand sucks in jrpgs , it may have the same multiplats as the 360 ( the last remnant , SO4 ) , but it doesn't have anything special untill WKC , FFXIII ,and vs come out .

i am in almost full agreeance with proeye, however, again, we don't know what SONY has in store for us. could be nothing. which if that is the case, PS3 only owners are screwed. we'll see.0rin

If sony has anything new , they must show it in E3 or even TGS , because if they're not going to announce anything at those two events , the ps3 is pretty much screwed at 2008 ( in the jrpg department ) , 2009 though is a different story .

But I really admire what ms is doing , trying to infiltrate the japaneese market by announcing lots of jrpgs , it's like they never get desperate no matter how bad the xbox 360 is doing in japan ... kudos MS .

For us Western JRPG fans this looks very good. i've been very pleased with blue dragon and im about to start lost odessy, which i cant wait to play! Sony cant be all that pleased with sharing alot of its big name RPG's with microsoft, they have not done enough to seal down there devs, they should ask intel for some advice.

so your saying we need sales to enjoy a game? silly me i always thought we just needed the actual game :roll:

Thats a problem since FPS is the most popular genre for games at the moment.

The problem is MS is hoping to make the japanese happy, but they are are loyal to brands in their own country it might not make much differece, then other countries where FPS rules suffer as they dont have so many games to play.

Testing the waters/ paid more money/ UE3 having troubles on the PS3. (Its built on the UE engine not the white engine.)

Or maybe its because they have more staff dedicated to PS3 FF 13?

Japan is part of the world, so World wide means all regions including Japan. Though I don't know the actual scheduling so I'm not sure what they plan to do.

crisis core is not king of handheld rpgs. I could randomly pick into a bag of DS rpgs and find ones better than it.

All of the old FF games are on the ds :S That alone makes it better. Its not a damn spin off, using a weird one man combat system.
