So... they let FF13 go, but secure Heavy Rain? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?
I'll pass on Heavy Rain... or at least, from what I've seen so far.

Well, it's an expensive hobby man. And from what I saw it was all quick time events. I dont think it will be terrible, but I dont think I would want to drop $60 on it. I look forward to trying out LBP, I bought the Orange Box just for Portal, and I bought a Wii. I'm not against trying out new kinds of games, but I've played many games where QTE are spread throughout the game, and while that adds intensity to the scene, it really doesnt offer much in terms of gameplay. Just my opinion.

I saw it on Gametrailers or something originally in better quality. I'm not knocking the game, but it certainly doesnt interest me yet.

Don't be so presumptuous.Hey you said it yourself buddy. According to you all we have for this game is the screenshots, so why should you cows be excited for it? Oh sorry I forgot you guys hype any game that has decent graphics without knowing how it plays.

That and horrible horrible horrible horrible controls were my main issues with Indigo Prophecy. The story was cool but alot of times I either wanted way more interaction than they offered or I wished there was no interaction and I could just sit back and watch it as if it was a movie.

Like Too Human? Lemmings hyped any game that was in the JRPG genre.

I didn't say it was. Those are two different comments.
Why not buy a game from a reputable company like Epic or Valve :/ ? oh wait that's right....hongkingkong

So when is the orange box going to stop sucking so bad on PS3? Where is Gears of War? UT3 sucks, bad. Sony have fallen out with devs over their silly silly design, its all their arogant fault. MS aren't friends with Valve, but their games are easier to develop for 360. Everbody knows this.

I guess You're safe. Did You ever try the Fahrenheit demo? That's a bit of what You can expect, if the hands on i read has any truth to it. You should really try that if You haven't yet. There was a lot of QTE in that game, as it was very cinematic, but the other half consisted of rather interesting point and click adventure with tension. Really give it a try. You can find it here, it runs on about any pc by now.I have this idea for a game, basically. It plays its self, you sit back and watch, the only thing you have to do is press buttons at cetain moments (if you want to) to change what happens.
diped
How amazing of an idea is that!

Exactly what I was about to say. It works both ways, we can't hype it yet but neither should we dismiss it.

sadly its true, since microsoft entered the console business there have been to few innovative games released. everyone seems to want a new FPS every 6 months these days and to be honest im bored to tears with FPS games.
im just glad there are a finally a few good RPG's on there way as well as new stuff like LBP, spore is also interesting as well its taken a long time to get here but all the good games do.
i hadn't seen anything on Heavy rain until yesterday and the trailer i saw has me interested i will be following it a bit closer now.
Just for confirmation, PS3 and 360 versions of UTIII are basically the same according to most reputable sights minus split screen, guess had to throw lemmings a bone. But to most pc gamers and ps3 gamers UTIII wasn't all of that and sales show this even on the pc side. Only 360 owners after being in a drought and buying up a gimped version of BF2 with bf:bc and UTIII thinks that its so great.
Also since most sites concluded UTIII are the same on both consoles it was pretty interesting to see the Sept Issue of OXbox magizine say UTIII makes Gears look homely lol. They said that not me :)
P.S. It is pretty sweet to play with keyboard and mouse though with UTIII on the ps3 :)

One game so far.
Like I said before, it looks like it'll be another passive entertaining game but with more interaction in these sequences. So just like MGS4, during the lengthy cutscenes you had options to press X and L2 to trigger flashbacks and view things. Now when Heaven Rain, it looks like you'll be pressing X, Triangle, Circle, Square to interact with the scene. It looks good, but it doesn't look fun.
good move. 360 gamers actually like to play games and not c level moviesmephisto_11
and by playing games you mean mindlessly running around gunning down everything with little thought.
its quite amazing though all this bad press for heavy rain and they have only released the 1 trailer showing very little.

In Heavy Rain's case it looks like they got the story down but the gameplay seems made with little thought. But yes, this is the first gameplay trailer, so you just have to understand that it might've gave some people a first bad impression and these people will speak their mind on what they've seen. Nothing personal, it's just opinions.

sony has a lot of those too (ie resistance 1, resistance 2, uncharted, haze, killzone 2). microsoft just happens to have much better ones.
