Good, I've put SOOOOOO much money into this gen as it is. Another skystem would kill my wallet. I have invested around $500 into the Wii, $700 into PS3, and literally $2,500 on the 360
soo much for the recession I guess

This gen is really expensive and gaming devs are struggling to catch up with our current tech. It will be a while before they can streamline the process and make HUGE profits off HD games while selling fewer games. Whoever jumps into next gen. too early will get shunned by most gaming devs.LINK

360 is almost at 30 million and growing fast, it would stupid to put out a new system soon
my prediction fall 2012
If none of the new systems come out until 2012 or later I would be pleased.SpruceCaboose2012 or 2013 ive put to much into this gen and I hope next gen is 10 years atleast
I wonder if they're giong with a 10 year plan or something like that, too.... because I'd imagine they'd at least be WORKING on the next console right now if they weren't. GodofBigMacsWho wants a really old and dated console though. They need to release there next ones by 2011/12 or I'll be a very very sad panda.

Early adopters spent $1250 on hardware alone (granted I didn't spend that, but close), and I personally think that the systems (even the Wii) have enough power to pull off most developers visions, the hardware makers (Ninty not included here) are not making much money to cover their losses (and Ninty making enough money that they would enjoy continuing in this manner), and since most third party developers/publishers are also not making much money, I am sure they would prefer not spending time and money learning new platforms.
You seriously ought to invest much more money into the PS3.metalgear-solid
Not really. If he plays multiplats on 360, like me, then that sounds about right.
I'm still guessing there will be speculations next year (2010) and by 2011 we will see some kind of release of information and 2012 see the launch of the new system. Nintendo might launch their new in 2011 and god knows when the next Sony system will be out. I can't even speculate since they said that the life span was going to be like 10 years or something.GamingcucumberThat's how long they will support it. Not how long until the next system. They said the same for the PS2, but they've supported the PS2 for 10 years, 2006 was obviously not 10 years after the PS2 launched. I'd guess in 2013 or 2014 for a PS4.
Good, if they made a console soon I'd be angry considering I just got me 360 last october.HaziqonfireMe too.
anyone who thinks a new Xbox would come out before 2011 is not very wiseTOTAL_DEFENSE_0bu...buh...the original Xbox only lasted 4 years!

7-8 years is long enough by 10 years the system is old look at PS2
[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"]If none of the new systems come out until 2012 or later I would be pleased.Sully28I agree 100 percent. I am very happy with my ps3 right now, and graphics on both systems(360 and ps3) and good enough to make me happy for awhile. The graphics are good enough to make me happy forever. lol Graphics is not the only reason why I'd pay hundreds of dollars for a new console.
I think we can expect an announcement of a new system in 2010, to be released in 2011. That sounds about right.thinicerIf it's the end of 2011, I could live with that. (well of course it'll come out at the end lol)
anyone who thinks a new Xbox would come out before 2011 is not very wiseTOTAL_DEFENSE_0Duh SUR Okey. lol

I wonder how next gen will be. Everyone except Nintendo spent crazy insane amounts of money that they haven't really made back. I wonder how eager they are to start that process all over again? Plus graphics right now are really good. If gameplay could look as nice as in-engine cutscenes, that would be more than good enough. The main issues are framerates and animation. Great textures are worthless if everything becomes laughable as soon as the characters start moving. If every game had quality voice acting that would make most games seem miles better than what they currently are, and thats got ZERO to do with graphics. I could see people getting cheap next gen, and basically using the same tech, but just doubling the processors and ram (maybe quadrupling ram since you always hear almost immediately that the lack of ram is what holds back developers) so there is a performance increase, you're not breaking the bank.Senor_KamiI agree man I am tired of this gens prices i thought $400 was too much freaking $600 console is completely ridiculous I just want a slim 360 with more ram more processing minor changes launch price $250 with halo 4 in fall 2012
2012CoW_201I predict that it is actually the Xbox 1080 and its uber awesomesauce with Halo 4, that will end up destroying the world. All that will survive is Croyts Rage, who'll be screaming at the TV, asking who turned the Xbox Live off.
