All of the big companies have used shady business dealings. In the NES era nintendo made devs only dev for the NES. I am sure Sony has done similarly reprehensible things.reaperstollyep thats true i bet they would still do it if it was legal . sadly the day of exclusives are over .

You are really confusing Anti-trust laws, which are designed to prevent a company to use its market edge to force competition to bow down to it, and/or force other companies to only deal with it, and licensing deals, which are when one company (Say Sony) signs a deal where a publisher releases games for its system only (Say GTA 3) in exchange for some sort of financial gain.
One it illegal (Anti-trust), and one is shrewd business (licensing deals).Â
*looks at grammar* *scratches head* What?Verge_6If all u can say i am bad at writing , then you cant think of a come back or just trying to be a pain .
Microsoft forced no one to support Windows. Developers do because it is on 95% or so of the worlds computers, and that would be a huge market to neglect.SpruceCaboose

he's right....at one point 10 years ago or so MS used to block off and disalow companies to make software for both OS's....they later got sued for it and after a supreme court ruling....MS lost the ability to control what software ended up where.
Â
Which is why today anybody can be software for Windows without the approval of MS.Â

I was ten when that happened, but it I still remember it, since it was so huge. That was their biggest filed lawsuit against them to date, wasn't it?Â

well its dificult to value since they didnt pay anything major...But I guess in terms of the money they could have made...I guess so.Â
No, Microsoft won because it got a piggyback ride from IBM who already had a very large market share and was well established in the industry.
Apple, even at their height with the original Macintosh, never had a dominant marketshare. Once Steve Jobs was removed, the situation went even more pear shaped.
Microsoft did not win because they forced companies to use their OS, that makes no sense, because you already need to have won before you can force people to use your OS.Â
Macs were here before windows machines its not microsoft fault for making a better OS that many people love.gamer4life85
They didn't make a better OS. They made a cheaper one, and used IBM to disseminate it.
Mac OS were, and always have been better. Their just plagued with compatibility issues.Â

the never forced anyone....But at one point, after they had achieved market dominance...They tried to wipe out all competition completly, by not allowing any Software developer for other OS's to make stuff for Windows. Therby forcing those developers to become Windows only developers.Â
