Being knee deep into Lost Odyssey, best JRPG this gen and IMO, takes backseat to no other JRPG ( on disk 4 ) already this year and with Too Human, NG2, Fable 2, Banjo 3, Gears 2, Halo Wars, GTA4 along with some sweet looking & sounding 360/PC games like Splinter Cell Conviction and what looks to me like a Great MMO for the first time on a console -Age of Conan.

I really can't see needing or having the time for another console so I think I'm saying right now that me buying a PS3 this year ( unless MGS4 & FF13 are phenom :) ) looks less & less likely and even if I do find a Wii on the shelf sometime this year I will need to think twice - though like most others who have a Wii I would like it for those times when family & friends are over who are overwhelmed by trying to use traditional VG controllers.

The 360 is IMO the best all around games machine and with one - you really have almost everything you could ever want in gaming all under one roof so to speak and at a bargain price.

Add into the mix XBLA and well the only reason I would buy a second console is just to say on SW that I have and that's really no reason at all - Sorry but I'm just not that insecure about my gaming preference.

So you can call me a lemming I guess but the fact is I'm no system fanboy but go ahead and call me a GamesFanboy all day long because that's the fact Jack !

Age of Conan !

http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/713/713943/vid_2303759.html

Ooops, that is B.F.B.C. which I might add is another must buy game by the looks and sounds of things ! :)

Here is A.o.C.

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/31211.html

Another area in which Age of Conan breaks from the pack is the way mounts are incorporated in the game. Each of the three mounts we saw in the demo (war mammoth, war rhino and horse) handled differently and had their own individual strengths. Combat continues while mounted, and players can even cast spells from that position. The horse is the fastest mount we saw, while the other two are able to besiege enemy cities with their massive spiked tusks or horns.

The PvP endgame includes the ability for guilds to build and expand their own cities. As buildings become more impressive (and useful), they require increasingly large materials investments to construct. Once completed, they provide a host of benefits, including crafting and temple specializations. We saw an accelerated version of a town's formation, and its size and scope was impressive. As guilds become more powerful, they'll likely invoke the ire of other players, who can then construct siege machinery and try their best to destroy all that hard work.

If you are able to view in HD you need to try the link - watch and see for yourself.

Also, all the RTS games in the next few months for 360 really rounds out a excellent line up of games for this system.

Of Course, All IMHO. :)

Honestly? Its real tough. I try and get at least one game for each console at a time. Finish all three. Then play three more. It takes forever. I wish I had all three when I was single and lived with my parents. More time to waste back then.

I've wondered this too. It's the main obstacle for me to buy another system. There's so many games that I own already that I can't spend time on. I almost find it disturbing how many hours some players log on their systems and the internet each night: sh*t can't be healthy.

I think it might be because we're picky (We have to be seeing as it's so expensive), so we only play the really really good games.

I can only ever play one game at a time or else older games get burried and I can't get into them later on. So I only buy and play one game at a time. This makes a big difference when you have two consoles. I often have to juggle which game am I going to get next, but it is easier on time.

Yeah. This is true. No time to waste money on duds like Turok or possible duds like Army of Two.

I use to be like that ( just like the poster below you ) but I mean seriously, I have Dead Rising and others like that that have sat there un-played. I think I played it once and from what I've heard of the game - that's almost a crime.

I dunno - maybe I'm just getting too old. :?

welcome gaming droughts?

Droughts are a great time to play lots of online, revisit retro games and catch up on current games.

:)

The only way i could see staying on top of every new game for each system would be to rip through each game. Not collecting much, not wasting much time. No replaying the game or trying to uncover all of its secrets etc. Even then, you'd probably have to be jobless/single to keep up! It's crazy just how many good games are out there.. imo.

The same exact thing can be applied towards you, it's called an opinion for a reason!

Personally, the only game that could have ever gotten me to purchase a 360 would have been Mass Effect, but since that's coming the PC, I don't have to.

We do tend to look for the highly reviewed, personal favorites, or strong established franchises since we're buying for all three consoles, and want to get the best for each one. There will inevitably be some duds which get thrown aside, but the beauty of having all three is choice. Unfortunately, choice results in there being a lot of games left unfinished. I'll hand it to the 360 in this respect, as getting the achievements is a nice incentive to go back and play games which I would have otherwise shelved. (And the upcoming PS3 trophy-esque thing should be good too, we just need a Wii equivalent now. ;) )

Mostly, I make time by doing as little else as possible. :P

P.S. When you have all three consoles (and the handhelds, and perhaps a gaming PC) you need a lot of shelves.

Yeah I wish I could go back to Bioshock and try different ways of using the various plasmids. But thats time I could spend beating Drakes Fortune. I don't usually 100% any game, except for Super Mario Galaxy (without a story the essence of the game IS to collect all the stars with mario and luigi) But once I'm done with the storyline I'll consider a game finished.

It's hard as hell, but there is something about never having to worry about having something to play, and being able to play almost anything that is released.

Yeah I don't know, its getting harder and harder for me to justify a PS3 purchase when my 360 already eats up my gaming budget as it is. Having both seems like a waste; I'd rather put the $500 towards building up a new PC.

However, the Wii fits in there nicely. Its not terribly expensive, and there aren't a lot of games I want for it, yet it gets used quite frequently just for Wii Sports when friends or family are over.

On the up-side we don't have to choose between exclusives, we can get them all. MGS, Halo, and Mario all share the same shelf and theirs something truly awesome about that.

That there is. :D Not being limited by exclusives is a massive plus. Although my PS3 games are on a different shelf from my 360 and Wii games since they're a different size. :o

For Real!!! I need more time!!!!

I don't have a lot of time to really play games, even though it is my favorite hobby. I'm in my mid-twenties and work full time as a office manager for an insurance agency. I am also going back to school full time for a second degree. This does not leave alot of time.

Last generation, I only had a GameCube, and had a GBA before I got the DS. But this generation I have overloaded myself. I have the DS still, of course. And have replaced the GC with a Wii. I then got a PS2 to catch up on the games I missed out when I just had the GC. Now I just got an Xbox 360 too. And I had got a new laptop for school, which is capable of playing most PC games decently as well. Its all so exciting, yet very overwhelming.

So, I buy games alot faster than I can play them. Which means that I own a big back log of games that I still need to play. But compulsively continue to buy new games.

We have reached gaming zen. *insert smiley with hands folded in prayer*

And yeah, the lack of objectivity (as well as common sense :P ) in some of the posts I've seen here is astounding. Perhaps we should create a superior forum for those who have all of the systems...woops! I never said that, such a location surely does not exist already and is having its identity kept secret. ;)

basically the wii takes up none of my time....except for galaxy, but im already through with it........so that leaves me with my ps3 and my 360.....as of now i pretty much only play my 360....but come a few months i feel that the ps3 might dominate my gaming time thanks to resistance 2 killzone 2 and mgs4....but then again the 360 will have fable 2 and im gonna by gta 4 for it so i actually probably dont have the time :P

Truthfully, I don't have the time. I wish the days were longer. I find myself not finishing as many games as soon as I get them, because there are just so many coming out. I tend to go back and finish them up later and sometimes it may be much later depending on the amount of newly released games that I have interest in.

I missed this one - yeah, no doubt though at this time I am single again but own my home and older yet I struggle to make time enough to play the games I already have and with the games I mentioned in the OP - sheesh - I dunno man. :)
