[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="Chutebox"] I'm just being silly, but it's ranked at 14 and 16th.Chutebox
Yeah, the recent reviewer who wanted hits at his site decided to be a very noticeable outlier."Make no mistake, Mass Effect 2 still has the power to deliver blockbuster sci-fi like no one can, but its developers should know better than anyone that you can't tell a great story if you spend three-quarters of a game introducing characters. Players who can look past the lack of drive, annoying decisions, and a general stripped-down, dumbed-down feeling can (thankfully) still look forward to some truly spectacular moments and unforgettable action before credits roll. In my view, Mass Effect 2 isa definite high-wire stum stumble, but it's to BioWare's credit that they managed to make it to the other side of the tent with their dignity mostly intact."
Now, I know I'm going to be called a cow or tell me I'm wrong, but I agree with his summary. I much prefer the story in the first since the second is mostly character development (well, all for me so far). I wouldn't give it a 7.5 so far, but I honestly like ME1 more so far.
I disagree. ME has a great story just like ME2 but I was based on discovery and mystery. You were learning about another world(worlds) and trying to figure out what Seran was up to. Now that we know the universe and the real threat, what was done in the first game can't be done again. To keep peoples intrest they need to build a new way of attachment, thus the intro of deeper characters and moral deleamas. But what could they use new sorce of conflict? What was first a universal problem is now a personal problem. What was once a united front is now devided in self interest. The Collectors provied a need source of conflict because it split up statue quo. They only attack humanity and their colonies at a time when everyone is still licking their wounds from a major battle they almost lost to a threat that no one could imagine. In truth, ME2 was a giant cat and mouse chase, granted it was a short chase it was still a dynamic one at least. ME2 made me care about that mouse and got me to hold my breath when that mouse was trapped in a corner. In truth, story game play, and progress, this game surpassed many that set the bar in these catagories and you can point to a game easily the has all these element work so well in on package . ME 2 for now is the best game on the 360, and one of the top games on the pc. I would say that this my be the game of the generation but ME3 is coming up.
