Multiplat or not, Mass Effect 2 is THE best game on the Xbox 360.

PS3 owners need to either pray it comes to the PS3 or buy it for the PC. It's excellent.Every gamer should play this game if they get the chance.I'm not going to compare it to Uncharted 2 in this thread, because they are 2 completely different games.

On a side note, if PC gaming is "so expensive" according to a majority of console gamers on this forum, then why does everyone say they can just buy Mass Effect 2 on PC in order to discredit the Xbox 360 of a great game? If PC gaming is so expensive, then you shouldn't have a computer that can run it, right?

It definitely is. There's no other game on the system where I'll see a commercial for it and STILL feel inspired by it. Its just that good, it stays with you.

I got it on PC.. its really sad whenever like "360 GOTY" or something on gamespot is multiplat, I mean, it does not make whatever game wins the category any less awesome, but it does mean that the best experience of that year for that console, does not actually require you owning the console.

I have only played a little of ME2 but from my experience with ME1 and playing other top titles like Halo 3, and Gears series, I agree with you TC. I do hope it comes to ps3 so I can give it a more through play through on my system of choice. I only rented it now so I am just going to do a pretty barebones single play through and hope it comes out on ps3 and if it does I will buy it and do a more complete playthrough or several playthroughs with different classes. IMHO I think that it's a timed exclusive that will come to ps3 but I am still not going to wait. I am playing it on a borrowed 360 and it is pretty great so far.

I feel bad for any gamer that doesn't play through ME & ME2

Time after time throughout the game I'm WOW'd... have yet to finish the game, but as I've said b4...

Mass Effect 2 is my Favorite Game of ALL TIME! prior to now, I wasn't able to choose a fav. It was a tie between Zelda: OOT, Super Mario World, Starcraft & Zelda: ALTTP.

Also... if the only way you can play it is on PC, do so... but if not, this series is worth getting a 360 for. IMHO, the 360 version is better... unless you have your PC hooked up to a 40+ Inch TV.

It IS a multiplat, but yes, it's the best 360 game in my opinion, because Mass Effect 1 was my favorite 360 game and 2 is so much better :)

Not anymore. Last time i checked it was at number 5. It lowered quit a bit. It's now like 12 or something. Which is still good though.

Mass Effect 2 is just a sad game. I mean, just look at it. It's a multiplat. Forget that it has really good roleplaying elements, a solid TPS, and a strong story. It's multiplat man, and that makes it crap.

Unless it's dramatically better than Mass Effect 1, I don't see it being best in ANY category, at least in my opinion. I thought ME1 was extremely overrated. It was neat the first time through, but I'd hardly call it amazing. Still have yet to play ME2, though.

Dramatically better isn't enough to describe how much Better ME2 is compared to the first. The one and only downside I've experienced so far (outside of a few bugs) is the mineral scavenging parts.

From what I've experienced in first 2 hours, ME2 is a drastic improvement. For one thing, it actually has a tutorial so you actually understand the game sooner. ME1 kind of left you on your own in teaching you about the game so many players didn't really understand aspects of the game until several hours in whereas ME2 actually teaches you gameplay mechanics. The game is technically way better as it addresses the issues of the first game like elevators, framerate, and terrible texture pop-in. It looks a lot better too. ME2's combat is much smoother in part due to improved controls (ME1 had nades mapped to the Back button wtf) and the ability to map abilities instead of having to pause and select them. The squad commands also are much more functional now that you can give them separate orders. The classes provide a greater variety of gameplay experiences this time around. Many clunky aspects of the first game have been streamlined such as the clunky inventory system, the level system now that it doesn't have as many useless categories. The game also allows for greater customization this time around with characters. I just finished Mass Effect 1 this past week and loved it and Mass Effect 2 is so much better from my limited playtime with it so far. Mass Effect 2 is a more directed stream-lined experience and much more polished than the original.

But ME2 makes it look pretty turdy in comparison.

I wish I done more playthroughs of ME1, now the game is pretty much dead to me

Playing on PC and it's been pretty darned ordinary so far - if you wanna shooter, try something else; if you wanna RPG, try something else; Uncharted 2? Demon's Souls? Oh right... never mind, PC? Oh... (and c'mon - all adults have a decent PCs these days)

I s'pose the mineral-probing willgive these kids good training for the soul-destroying tedium of a work-a-day life though...

The game is all hype, and a bad example of what happens when developers try to please all the people, all the time. Best game? Too bad for you, it kinda sucks. Seriously, if that's the best the 360 can offer, sell it and buy a PS3 immediately - you wont regret it

Yeah, the recent reviewer who wanted hits at his site decided to be a very noticeable outlier.

"Make no mistake, Mass Effect 2 still has the power to deliver blockbuster sci-fi like no one can, but its developers should know better than anyone that you can't tell a great story if you spend three-quarters of a game introducing characters. Players who can look past the lack of drive, annoying decisions, and a general stripped-down, dumbed-down feeling can (thankfully) still look forward to some truly spectacular moments and unforgettable action before credits roll. In my view, Mass Effect 2 isa definite high-wire stum stumble, but it's to BioWare's credit that they managed to make it to the other side of the tent with their dignity mostly intact."

Now, I know I'm going to be called a cow or tell me I'm wrong, but I agree with his summary. I much prefer the story in the first since the second is mostly character development (well, all for me so far). I wouldn't give it a 7.5 so far, but I honestly like ME1 more so far.

Yes, I agree it is a game that should be experience by everybody. For people who don't have a 360 buy a cheap graphic card and play it on a PC. If you don't want to upgrade then you better pray that EA ports both ME & ME2 to the PS3.

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="Chutebox"] I'm just being silly, but it's ranked at 14 and 16th.Chutebox

I disagree. ME has a great story just like ME2 but I was based on discovery and mystery. You were learning about another world(worlds) and trying to figure out what Seran was up to. Now that we know the universe and the real threat, what was done in the first game can't be done again. To keep peoples intrest they need to build a new way of attachment, thus the intro of deeper characters and moral deleamas. But what could they use new sorce of conflict? What was first a universal problem is now a personal problem. What was once a united front is now devided in self interest. The Collectors provied a need source of conflict because it split up statue quo. They only attack humanity and their colonies at a time when everyone is still licking their wounds from a major battle they almost lost to a threat that no one could imagine. In truth, ME2 was a giant cat and mouse chase, granted it was a short chase it was still a dynamic one at least. ME2 made me care about that mouse and got me to hold my breath when that mouse was trapped in a corner. In truth, story game play, and progress, this game surpassed many that set the bar in these catagories and you can point to a game easily the has all these element work so well in on package . ME 2 for now is the best game on the 360, and one of the top games on the pc. I would say that this my be the game of the generation but ME3 is coming up.

Don't feel sad for people who didn't play ME1 and 2. There are a bunch of better games out there.
