Red Fly Studio.
They're new. The only other game their working on is the Wii version of Ghostbusters.
7.5 - Marked down for horrible camera control and/or control scheme. You heard it here first.
IGN seems to agree with the Control issues:
The opening sequence serves as a tutorial to familiarize you with the controls. The nunchuck's analog stick handles your movement, Z blocks, and C dodges. Over on the remote, A jumps, B activates your psychic spore powers, and the D-pad controls the camera. Combat is all waggle, all the time. This has us a little worried, as it's another example of seemingly unnecessary waggle that could have been handled with a button press.
I could live with that after playing Zelda. Luckly they don't say anything bad about the camera.
this also made me take a second look at the game:
Music plays into Mushroom Men as well, due to a built in metronome timing system. The music system was shown off in another level, when you had to solve a slider board puzzle.As you correctly put pieces into place, new layers of the music were added to the music track. As the battle above you raged on during this puzzle, the explosions and other ambient sounds timed into the music as well, making for a melodic experience. Les Claypool, formerly of Primus fame ("My Name is Mud", "DMV") has created four distinctly different musical tracks, each with a unique feel to the level that you are in.
The music thing from the second paragraph sounds cool. And the Primus Bassist is writing the music for it? Cool! He's a brilliant musician. I'll add that to the first post.
Also if the only control issue IGN have is waggle combat then I don't mind, because that's pretty much what I expect from the Wii.
I guess we'll find out in September. (Gamespot has the release date set for Q3 2008.)
[QUOTE="Tony-Harrison"] It's also coming out on DS.HarlockJC
I did not know this but the DS one is a prequel to the Wii game, and shows the evolution of the mushroom men from non-sentient to sentient.
Sounds good.
