http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=94558&page=1# i know vgchartz is known for being bad, but the numbers are from data from GFK Chart-Track :) it has sold 2.356 million units in the UK alone in less than 4 weeks, and the best-selling game of all time hit 3 million some months ago

Does that mean all Activision games will increase in price in the UK? afterall it sold better then pretty much any UK game out there, if it can hit that status with a higher price then...

BattleTurtles

Okami aka Zelda with Japanese folk lore

fixed. Okami was nothing special IMO. A Zelda clone.

However, I do agree great games don't ALWAYS sell. I mis-spoke a bit. But generally, you make an amazing game, and people will buy it, including gamers who don't follow every bit of gaming news like us. Bioshock, for example.

To anyone looking to pick it up, I strongly suggest waiting a month or two and picking it up used when everyone gets over it and trades it in. I liked the campaign a lot, but I can't see myself playing too much of the multiplayer. It's the same thing as COD4, and I filled up on COD4 two years ago. For some reason I predict this game going back to EB and Gamestop in droves.

Good job to IW for breaking all these sales records, but I think it came at the expense of some credibility. It's very clear that Activision is pulling the strings now. They still delivered a quality product, so I will tune in for their next one, but I may not be first in line to buy it at launch next time.

Psychonauts... Valkyria Chronicles... No More Heroes... GTA Chinatown Wars... just a few off the top of my head, and they are all recent. There will be more this Christmas, we will hear all about the games that flopped financially by February.

It's actually quite often that great games don't sell.

It's often said that there is nothing common about common sense, and there is even less commonality when it comes to taste.

I would question 3 of the 4 you listed as being "good games" but like you said, personal taste is personal taste.

All of those sold over 200k, I don't see why people call that "not selling".

It helped sell because of the ridiclous hype
