Really, can I see the numbers that say movie watchers outnumber gamers 6 to 1.
If you wanna get real hectic go ahead and find piracy rates for movies and games!
Or we could skip the crap and realize that a game generating 550 million in sales has nothing to do with how much we enjoy it.
No matter how you want to slice it, $550 million in 5 days is very impressive. And who said anything about sales being a measure of enjoyment? Sales certainly are not, but they sure are a measure of how popular something is. The critical consensus of the game seems to imply that the game is enjoyable to the majority though..."The game has sales therefore is the best" is a common arguement in system wars.
The sales don't necessarily translate to enjoyment but consistent players do, but if that large mass of people all bought and played another game who is to say that would not enjoy it as much or more? The game was marketed well, and had strong word of mouth.
