You thought GTA IV was huge, didn't you?

The haters are owned, and all those that never thought it would break records are put to shame.

Also, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Twilight and every other entertainment things that thought they were big, they have been owned...

Well done, Infinity Ward!

It's not money well deserved. It's just scrounging money out of stupid people that buy these games.

Why do we have to judge other people's fun? They are enjoying it, $60 well-spent for them, just because they have different opinion =/= they are stupid

Awesome! :D I hope Activision sells their next game for $70, and I hope that they make a killing with that one as well, and then I hope that every other developer takes notes and they begin to sell their games for $70 as well. :D

Really, can I see the numbers that say movie watchers outnumber gamers 6 to 1.

If you wanna get real hectic go ahead and find piracy rates for movies and games!

Or we could skip the crap and realize that a game generating 550 million in sales has nothing to do with how much we enjoy it.

What one developer could try and get away with, another could not. The industry will quickly find that out if they try. Braid for $60 would have sold like 4 copies, and I hope developers and publishers understand business.

Different opinions or the common as muck shooter addiction. Which one? The majority of these people don't even have opinions of their own. They just follow the crowd and the hype. Face it this game sold off it's name alone. Sales off popularity alone is nothing to be proud of. MW2 is a game that takes zero risks and has zero changes.

No matter how you want to slice it, $550 million in 5 days is very impressive. And who said anything about sales being a measure of enjoyment? Sales certainly are not, but they sure are a measure of how popular something is. The critical consensus of the game seems to imply that the game is enjoyable to the majority though...

Different opinions, and I don't much appreciate you calling people like me who enjoy CoD games names. If you want to be respected and treated like an adult, how about you act like one with a little tact. Realize your opinion is just your opinion, like mine is just mine, and belittling those with different opinions on the game does nothing but make you look poor. If you want to discuss the game or its sales, discuss it like a rational person and cut the name calling BS out.

Point being? They are enjoying the game, and thinks it's worth the $60 spent, isn't having fun the whole point of gaming? It's simply not nice to call people name for having different taste/preference than you

But saying not Braid, you are acknowledging that there is indeed already is, and will be, a tiered system in place that allows for the setting of prices as publishers see fit. This has always happened, and it will continue to happen. Publishers set what they think they can get, and the audience votes on the price with their wallets. People claiming that MW2's success is going to collapse gaming must not have been around gaming terribly long, as the same things that are going to "kill gaming" have been "killing gaming" for decades.

Might not be nice, the truth does hurt and all. They've gotta be told though. Not that it will make any difference. It doesn't concern me now though. I'd much rather sit back and watch the gaming industry get ruined by reckless buyers feeding Bob Koticks ego. It's fun(ny).

I'm not saying that argument has never been used, but it wasn't in this thread. The game is popular. It has good word of mouth from all the friends on my list playing it, and it has good sales. Seems like it is a good enough game to me, but I have yet to play it to form my own opinion. I just think people who are calling it terrible or such without ever playing it are being a bit quick to bash something that is obviously giving people fun.

All 550 million dollars of this game's sales were given to it by mindless sheeple who follow the franchise blindly and will buy whatever's tossed at them, and I have the full right to say this as I am instantly higher minded and more intelligent than these millions of people that I'm pretentiously calling out on their stupidity. I also hate my dad and can't win a fight with my fat wife.

I don't think it is a bad game at all. In fact overall, I think it is a good game. However it outselling some of the other good games from this year does not mean I will enjoy it more than I did those games.

Im jealous actually, I would see more movies if they were 3.50 a pop. As is I have a hard time forking out 10 bucks for a couple hours of enjoyment, as opposed to my 60 dollar games that see many many hours of gameplay.

A local theatre here charges 1.25 per movie. However all the movies are older (They arn't on DVD yet but are just about ready to come out.) and they have few screens.

[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"][QUOTE="Crossel777"] It's not money well deserved. It's just scrounging money out of stupid people that buy these games.kaealy

So now they are dumb because they have different opinions than you do on games? Way to be accepting of other people's opinions at the same time that you are belittling others....

Well, I'm not going to sit here and say that Mcdonalds is good, tasty and healthy food just because of the milions and milions of fat americans, that stuff their mouth full of Mcdonalds products everyday.

McDonalds is far more popular in other countries than America. My God, just look at Japan. McDonald's practically owns Japan.
