Alright, I decided to go here to ask this question(considering that this is a site about games). Its for the MW3. Now, as of now I'm planning on pre-ordering the MW3 xbox. Yet I want my prestige edition this year. I have it under my ps3. I play that one more(obviously). Yet should I get it for the xbox? Larger multi-player, or should I get it for my ps3, with the HD? Just give me advantages for both, and what one you honestly thing I should do. Answer if you have both of them please. Welcome you other guys from the other post 2 :P

Not really SW stuff... but if you want my answer, it would be, get it for the console you actually own.

BUT if you want my TRUE answer, it would be... don't get it at alllol

First of all. both games have a huge community, online, on both consoles secondly "get it for the PS3 for the HD":lol: The 360 is also an HD console, the game actually looks and plays better in 360 than PS3. So I would say get it for the 360

Buy Battlefield 3 for ur PC or ur PS3. Unless u enjoy playing the same game for the 5th time and getting ripped off for map packs. As well as the screaming 12yr olds and the unbalanced gameplay. If you want a REAL game buy Battlefield 3.

He'll get bored of BF3 in days. Let the kid decide and choose the best game in the world (entertainment-wise): MW3.

I wouldn't buy an entirely new console just to play a multiplatform game.

Oh really? Because going by past releases in both series, Battlefield games tend to have WAY more content and replay value...and you don't need to shove off 15$ every couple of months.

And CoD the best game in the world? Really? You either have very bad taste in games or are very easily swayed by marketing campaigns.

I said it's the most entertaining game in the world.

I have over 30 games for the 360, and MW2 and BO alone have more than 20x playtime than the rest combined.

Also, replay value. Is that why BF has like 15,000 online while COD has 1 million?

It's posts like this that make me facepalm on system wars. "Let me just criticize this one game franchise for reiterating, over pricing dlc and being unbalanced while simultaneously praising another franchise that is constantly reiterated, has over priced dlc and unbalanced gameplay"

And your are pulling these numbers from where? And Entertaining is subjective. it might be for you. It's not for others. Also, it's logical for CoD to have higher numbers...because it sold more, because it's the only thing the casuals play. While informed gamers actually have STANDARDS.

I can't believe a thread about a game actually generates more useless comments on SW than it does on OT.

Scratch that.It makes sense.

If we measured everything purely by popularity then Justin Beiber is a musical genius by our times. I'm not saying CoD is bad but claiming it's the most entertaining game in the world is a bit presumptuous. Likewise, just because one game is more popular than another does not mean it has more replay value. It just means it's more popular.

All games are fun, COD is fun too but slowly the games becomes horrible and it gets exposed with flaws. COD4 lasted me 3 years before the fun ran out. Battlefield came out in 2005 and I still have alot of fun. Also CASUAL Gamers and KIDs prefer COD because its much more rewarding even where you're bad at it.

Choosing what they've been spoonfed over the years because most of them (the casuals and brahs) are too braindead to realise they are playing a POS game that's same as last year and that there are much better games out there.

Props to acti though. Their marketing was spot-on and has made them tons of money this gen. Hurting the industry in the process.

"Are too braindead to realize they are playing a POS (AAA) game"

Ah, the excuse when you DON'T WANT TO REALIZE that COD is more FUN than YOUR FAVOURITE game.

You can't accept that 30 million fans LOVE COD, so you come up with excuses, like them being brainwashed.

COD is really fun but the fun-ness in the game doesnt last very long unlike battlefield.

FUN is subjective dude. Come up with better arguments next time. What is fun for me, may not be fun for you, and vice versa. And how many of those 30 million fans are actual informed gamers? That know what they are playing? That know other games exist, that have actually played other games other than CoD and inform themselves on industry news?

And don't bring the AAA rating in the discussion. It's common knowledge at this point, noone even tried to deny that Acti used 'special tactics' to get high ratings.

Save yourself the money and just buy COD4 or just skip it all together. MW2/3 are exactly the same game minus subtle changes in a already weak story (which is practically non existent), and with a Multiplayer component that has only gotten worse with each release. MW3 doesn't seem to change much, if at all. If you've played one Modern warfare, then you've played them all

This point exactly.

marketing has a lot to do with it.

i asked a friend what he thought about BF3. Hes like, does it have a good multiplayer?
I was honestly like :|, you don't know anything about games.

It all comes down to marketing.

No you're simply wrong. I have a K/D of 2.98 on Black Ops. Once you hit 1st or even second prestige, got every unlocks and done all challenges, the game become pretty boring and also as time goes, people seem to find exploits in the game. So I have a better K/D than you in COD. Also it seems you dont like Battlefield because there are no noobs in that games to pwn. COD is full of casual gamers and kids which are playing the game for fun and they are not like you.

what i can say to everyone right now. I was foolish enough to reply and get my self into this arguement.

But i suggest you guys all leave as this "kid" doesn't realise the meaning of the word "fun". If you don't realise that its subjective, your arguements and replies are useless. Atleast come back with some decent points about MW3.

this is how the arguement kinda sounds like with people like you:
you: Oh hey MW3 is fun.

us: Yah but...bf3 has better graphics, the engine, the destruction, the amazing sound quality, etc. Plus Fun is subjective.

you: no no, MW3 is more fun because i said so.

Actually. They don't. At least most of them. Tell me how many of these people used to play games before CoD? How many of them play other games than CoD? The difference in quality between CoD and games like Battlefield is obvious. They just don't know about it, because they don't play enough games to frequent gaming websites and realise there are other good games out there. That, and Acti's marketing campaign, catering to the brahs and the kids, making them think CoD is cutting-edge or something.

So, between brahs and kids, what are you?

Actually.

You call yourself gamer, yet don't know that COD4 is the reason COD is a phenomenon... Not some "brahs".

1) CoD is pretty much the same on all platforms, so it doesn't matter what console you get it for.

2) My suggestion is you cancel the CoD pre-order and go pre-order a game called Battlefield 3. It's 30 times better than CoD, and is one of the best FPS' to come out this gen.

3) You can't see your legs in CoD (last gen technology), but you can see your legs in BF3!!! (next gen technology)

Huh? Maybe it's just you? You get tired of getting killed all the time and having 2-15 in stats...

Me at a comfortable 2.72 K/D-ratio, is pwning those noobs. Having more fun than ever. ;)

DangerousLiquid

No you're simply wrong. I have a K/D of 2.98 on Black Ops. Once you hit 1st or even second prestige, got every unlocks and done all challenges, the game become pretty boring and also as time goes, people seem to find exploits in the game. So I have a better K/D than you in COD. Also it seems you dont like Battlefield because there are no noobs in that games to pwn. COD is full of casual gamers and kids which are playing the game for fun and they are not like you.

So I am not playing because of fun? ...

People like you probably are on 15th prestige on BO, play the game hours on end. There are people out there, 75% of people in COD sit down after school for kids or work for normal casual players and play it for an hour till they get bored or whatever. Just accept it, COD is full of casuality and kids. When I play COD, all I find is 12 year olds on the mic, especially on zombies.

are you not able to comprehend his sentences?
let me break it down to you in bullet points to prove you wrong.

1. He thinks that Cod can be fun and people think its fun.

2. He believes that people don't know about games like BF3 because COd has had superior marketing.

3. Thus, sales don't really mean that one game is more fun than the other.

4. You say that COd is the most fun game, But hes trying to say that its not for HIM.

People these days are getting a little _____ by the day.

Nah, I am 12 or 13. Don't play BO anymore, waiting for MW3.

But I have not always find it fun.

It was very fun in the beginning, like to 2nd prestige.

Then I started getting a bit bored, and slowed down.

Then I felt the urge to play it again, played some prestiges. Etc.

And it was in the spring I got very good at COD and used to enjoy daily games.

So it is this special thing that COD makes with us, always pulling us back to the game. Something BF can't do. It rather pushes you away.

Umm...I don't really understand. The console versions of MW3 will be the same, so I don't know where you are getting this larger multiplayer battle stuff from. Are you actually talking about the PC? Anyways I will just say get it for the system you have the most fun playing on.

Although Battlefield 3 is the answer your REALLY looking for :P

CoD4. An excellent game. for 2007. I had tons of FUN with it, for about a year. Then it got boring. Next CoD? More of the same. Next CoD? More of the same. And then? You guessed it. More.of.the.same. Didn't even need to buy them to realise they were the same thing. THe genre evolved. Standards in graphics and gameplay changed. Yet CoD refuses to use a new engine, refuses to allow true player freedom and most importantly refuses to change. Why? Because it CAN. By cashing in on yearly rehases, grabbing the money of uninformed and easily swayed brainless consumers who don't know better quality products are out there because they are too braindead to look into it more.

CoD is driven by marketing.

Battlefield is driven by quality.

FACT.

Exactly, many people who play COD dont have an idea what Battlefield is. People play COD because its very rewarding even if you're bad and its addicting.

CoD4 being more influential than any BF game, is something you seem to ignore.

And with the exception of graphics and visuals, MW3 improves on as much as BF3 (at least).

PC - BF3 360 - MW3 PS3 - MAG, KZ, Warhawk, Resistance MW3 is actually the weakest option out of all of them, but probably the best option available to Xbox360 players.

[QUOTE="BobThePanda1"]Alright, I decided to go here to ask this question(considering that this is a site about games). Welcome you other guys from the other post 2 :Plightleggy

First of all. both games have a huge community, online, on both consoles secondly "get it for the PS3 for the HD":lol: The 360 is also an HD console, the game actually looks and plays better in 360 than PS3. So I would say get it for the 360

I would be the first to argue that both versions play the same. I think people who talk about "superior" multiplats are just talking out of their ass and only think that way becasue of what they hear from internet fanboys and nitpicky lens of truth.

>True. For 1 or 2 sequels. The 5th time you release the same game though, it's downright pathetic.

CoD4 being more influential than any BF game, is something you seem to ignore.

>Oh. That's why CoD4 ripped off Battlefield 2's leveling system and the modern setting?

And with the exception of graphics and visuals, MW3 improves on as much as BF3 (at least).
