Guys I was curious how much of the BF3 population will leave once MW3 comes out. Im betting that atleast 1/4 of those playing BF3 are doing so simply because it is the newest FPS out there. I love BF3 and it is my multiplayer FPS of choice, but I somehow think there are alot of CoD fans who are just giving BF3 a try until their game comes out.

Who cares. Both are incredibly generic, unrealistic military shooters. That said I will play both, then go back to Halo & Gears. Sorry, but nothing can compare to arena style shooters like Halo, Gears, Quake, and Tribes. (I wish they would make a new one of the latter two for god sakes!! I want my BFG/spinfuser!!!)

I highly doubt it. Battlefield games have a large following. Heck, i can get on BFBC2 right now and find 20 full games. Im sure most COD fans are still playing black ops or waiting.
Obvious answer is yes. I will continue playing BF3, but they are very similar games to a lot of people and some that will get MW3 got BF3 because it came out first. Over time, as new games come out, some people move on. Once Diablo III comes out, I will likely stop playing a majority of my games, despite genre.

I bought BF3 wanting to love it. I just had to try it because the only FPS I play are COD games. And boy, this game is too hard for me. I'm not a hardcore FPS guy, and BF3 was just too overwhelming for me to enjoy. Back to COD for me it is. Not the games fault, just too much for me to handle.

so you want EVERYONE to move to mw3? I'd rather play with players that do the objective, help the team.. instead of playing with who just sits, camps, snipes, crash.. whatever .. you name it.

The jet gameplay isn't that slow from what I saw from it.
I think it is. You get in a jet, you need to take off (In CoD you could already have a kill), then you need to find some enemies, and then you need the patience to actually kill somebody with the jet which isn't easy to learn.

Umm yeah they are comparable. Because call of duty has a rpg like system and responsive controls. But seriously, its not all about being realistic.

You know.... I think the CoD players might have been the Valor Players in M.A.G. They play so horribly in a team base game it's not even funny. You see them at the rooftops just trying to get points sniping while their base is getting taken over by the enemy. You see people from Sver using gas grenades and people from Valor are like wtf is this? i never seen that before... must be a smoke bomb. And they all walk right into it... so yea....... Can't wait for MW3 so they can get off my other fav team FPS game BF3.
There's enough room for both shooters. So while technically they're competing for the same players, I don't see either game having a sales or online population problem because of the other's existence.
Exactly. If anything, MW3 guys "might" go over to BF3 if they feel things haven't improved enough. But for a BF player to convert to Call of Duty, that's rare. And then there are players that play both.
