I feel that the 3DS will be easily mistaken as just another DS design with the added gimmick(I don't think it is though) of 3D to most consumers who don't really read into games. I wish Nintendo would have at least went a little more bold with the design, and stepped further away from the DS. It looks great, but look at it hard enough and it just looks like another redesign.

Yea they could've changed the design more, sure the precise design isn't final but most of it will stay the same

they did a good job changing GBC from a slate looking device to GBA, then to clamshell with GBA SP

Maybe a sliding design for it? or a swivel top a la Sidekick cell phones?

That didn't stop people from buying every other redesign. My biggest worry is price.

Well, anyone who walks into a gamestop or walmart, or target, or bestbuy will notice that the screen on the demo unit is jumping out at them pretty quickly.

It really depends on how they advertise it. I'm sure they'll make it clear it's a brand new handheld.

Well i sold my DS a long time ago, since I barely used it, but now, I'm all regretting it, so i might get a 3DS with no fear, I just hope Nintendo doesn't release a new DS seconds after, that would totally disappoint me.
