Thats a shame :|. I have two PS3's but only one of them has up to date saved data. Does anybody know if this catastrophy fries everything in your HDD?

I have a 60GB btw. Damn now I know how 360 owners feel on a regular basis :x

Yes, yes it does. I was just playing Resistance 2 online co-op today and got to LVL 15 on medic :|.

After reading the first two posts I'm half expecting the next post to be somethign like "Well luckily I found an awesome website where you can buy a PS3 for next to nothing. Just go to _website link- and you could have yours as well. Making gamers happy since 2005."

Your hard drive should be fine.
Just swap the one from your dead PS3 to your working one, boot up, and store your saves to a flash drive, external hard drive, or even an iPod.
Then swap back and send your dead PS3 to Sony.

Well my 360 hasn't died in three years so...no you feel worse then 360 owners actually. I might just go off and play Left 4 Dead.

I think it would be worse to have it happen to your PS3 than your 360. When my 360 RROD'd I was like "meh, it was inevitable." If my PS3 dies I shall be sad because only a very small percentage of them fail:P

How exactly am I suppose to feel on a regular basis? Last time I checked, my 360 isn't dead nor has it ever did die :| But I can't say the same about my PS3...sadly.

I'm pretty sure there are a few PS3s out there that have actually died. Fanboys may exaggerate, but the PS3 is a piece of electronics, after all.

What do you mean "died"? MGS4 bricked my Blu-ray drive but the HDD and all other functions were fine.
