I was able to get my hands on the RE5 TGS demo. My friend somehow downloaded it onto a disc and invited me to play it co-op on his 360. First thing i have to say is that this game can be considered one of the best looking games of this generation and it hasnt even come out yet. The gameplay is very similar, if not, exactly like RE4's gameplay system except you dont always have to be pressing pause to figure out your the ammo combination. Instead you press Y and you enter a window with 9 slots: a few for weapons, ammo, herbal sprays etc. For the co-op, there are some cool elements like helping your partner by kicking the **** out of the infected who's strangling your partner. That works well. One major tip is SAVE YOUR AMMO. The demo i played was at a pretty hard difficulty so the enemies especialy the chainsaw guy was able to take a crapload of damage.

Then you can give the partner ammo or heal him/her. The problem with this is that I had to stop everything to heal myself or my partner or if i needed to give ammo. All this would happen while we were being chased by a horde and a huge guy with a big axe. Another thing i didn't like was the lack of effects in some parts. You can shoot a guy in the head, he would react as if something poked him in the eye, but if you were to shoot him the second time his head blow up (pretty cool). I think at this time, if shoot an enemy there should be some damage shown too. I dont know about you guys, but i like cool effects when you shoot someone. Examples: L4D, COD WaW, which had great effects. And yes World at War did have cool effects particularly the Nazi Zombie Mode.

NUMBER 1 FLAW: The saying "if it aint broken dont fix it" can apply for this game especially since RE4 revolutionized the 3rd person shooter gameplay system. BUT RE5's main problem is the new aiming system. When i'm being chased be the infected, i run right thru. When decide to turn around and shoot, i have to go to a compete stop and aim. This is where Gears and MGS4 perfected. Those games allow the player to move and shoot. Especially in RE5 fast environment where you're chased by hordes, but they're not just chasing you they run at you. However, once they get close enough they move at the old RE4, slow movement towards you. Now if i wanted to stay alive kill people at the same time, i would have to stop at a reasonable distance and hope to god i shoot em.

All in all, i have my fingers crossed for aiming system. The game is definitely a lot more thrilling than RE4 especially if you're tryin to conserve ammo. I found myself yelling at my partner multiple times out of fear. They've really got a thriller here. That's for sure

Not moving adds TEH TENZION, but I played the demo too, although I agree about it being one of the best looking games (or the best in IMO) most people wont agree and will be blinded by the fact that KZ2 has been in development in years and does what the PS3 is supposed to do.

Why not its turning out exactly like RE4 was, and the Co-op is really good.

Yeah, it's more like a survival action game, not horror, which was what Resident Evil was all about. Now, I love Resident Evil 4 as it took a different approach and I wouldn't mind if Resident Evil 5 did the same thing but it went even further making it more action oriented and less horror-like. Where's the horror if you have someone watching your back and when there's endless waves of enemies coming after you? There's no suspense, not in the demo anyways. I hope coop is only an option in the full game. I want a solo experience just like how the Resident Evil games were with some coop or ally AI here-and-there thrown in.

I dont knbow if your a long time fan or not, but there was no way that they could have kept the zombie thing going, it would have just gotten to old by now ya know? Also the whole partner thing has been a long talked about thing by MANY RE fans

Adding the ablitiy to move and shoot, kills the tension and would make it too easy...i love the fact that its slower and you need to make every shot count....its perfect the way it is. We don't want it to become a full blown action game..now do we? we already have the retro fans jumping at our throat about it.

I am a long time fan and I don't care if they're zombies, or parasite-infected. I want horror. It doesn't matter what the enemies are. I want suspense like what Dead Space, offered. Who knows, maybe the full version of the game will surprise me, but the demo left me disappointed.

Well said. Also, the whole RE4/5 isn't horror annoys me...RE4/5 is filled with horror eliments..making it a HORROR game, chris and sheva's mission is to survive it and do there jobs...making its a survival horror, i can't stress the amount of times in the demo i ran out of ammo. Just because RE has a new over the shoulder perspective and able to shoot any part of the body, doesn't make it an action game, just a more realistic horror one. IMO. the change was needed.

I could see where your whole heartily, coming from. You want that moment when the dogs first jump through the window in RE1, or when zombies reach there arms through the barricades in RE2, or when Nemesis randomly showed up In RE3.

its funny cuz none of the major gameing sites that have previewed it aren't saying anything negative about the gameplay, anyways, as fo slow aiming just turn the sensitivity up to "fast" thats what I did

Ohh yeah im definitely gonna pick up KZ2, I mean I own both systems so. But in the long run how good a game looks really doesn't bother me. But it's SW's problem that I have an opinion ya know? But I have every RE- From 1-4 and Code veronica, and Survivor, and Dead Aim, and Outbreak, I mean Im not playing it because its a game (well I still am and it's fun)but at the age im at, I am playing it because it's intense detailed story that in a weird way has really stretched out over the 10 years of the series existance

The last Resident Evil I liked and thought was good was Code Veronica then RE3. I hated the direction they took the series in and it looks like they are going to continue it. Owell, I miss the old Resident Evil days. Nothing like walking to a door then it cutting to a black screen with a door opening.

Co-op sounds fun, if there still adding it. I stipped following it after I saw the gameplay footage
