My unbias system wars review of all current gen consoles

Hey , as I now own all current gen systems,

I feel it is time to inform single system fanboys about what the benefits are of owning all systems.

This is the most unbiased post of system wars you will read today ( maybe )

PC- I have recently re newed my pc, with a new motherboard , 700w psu, 4GB corsair ram, and gpu, the gpu is a zotac gtx260 896mb, which only cost 120 quid, and it is able to play Crysis on highest 8x AA , at around 25fps.

Another big feature for pc games, are the mods, they give enormous replayablity ,many people still play half life 2 for this reason,The closest thing Consoles have to this is player generated content in such games as LBP and hlao3, but they do not hold a flame to mods .

the total cost was £350, the same amount i spend on ps3 60gb and mgs4 and a dualshock 3.

Crysis certainly does blow all games ( graphically wise ) out of the water, but apart from that im finding it hard to justify the £350

Apart from Crysis there are only a hand full of games that you need a high spec pc for.

PS3- This system has a great exclusive library , MGS4 ,killzone 2, valkyria chronicles, LBP so on, although the 360 is around half the price and has twice the library, the ps3 more than makes up for it with great features such as blu-ray, built in wi-fi and internet browser.

Xbox360 - Gaming wise this is the best system this gen, with great exclusives , great multiplats and lowest base price, but is let down by poor reliablility and by a large amount of its exclusives going to the PC.

Also the graphics king trend has gone backwards and forwards between the 360 and ps3, but the ps3 is now pushing ahead.

Nintendo Wii - This system is hugely under rated, its games may not appeal to the "core gamer" but its still has great quality, Mario galaxy, no more heros, metroid 3, zelda TP and many more.

on the down side is has very few features, very many "shovelware" games, and genrally is very hard to justify playing when you have PC, 360 and PS3.

I think for me, when i arrive home from a long day at work or college, i dont want to start more activity, I just want to relax.

Overall in my opinion in terms of these systems as a whole, I would go with 360-PS3 > pc > wii

In terms of power, it would be PC , but the amount of money and the various problems it can face, puts it down the list.

I have owned all 3 consoles this gen (no gaming pc yet waiting on Diablo/Starcraft) and I would rate em like this -

360 > PS3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wii

IMO heres my list + games I played most recently on the console.

I use to own all consoles, until I decided to sell my PS3.

1. PC (CS:S, Crysis Wars, Unreal 3, and TF2)

2. Xbox 360 (Halo 3, Gears of 2, and GTV IV)

3. Wii (Super Smash Bros Brawl, Zelda:TP, Metroid 3, and Mario Kart)

4. PS3 (MGS4, and Killzone 2)

i agree with most of what you said, but the 360 being the best console for gaming is subjective. quantity wise i agree, it has more games, quality wise is all opinion. atm more games appeal to me on the PS3.

For this gen I guess...

Modest PC > PS3 > Xbox 360 > Mid/High End PC > Wii

The PC wins soley because it has by far the biggest library of games, but most of those are from years ago. As a gaming platform the PC is incredibly overated. It's a glitch fest playing games for a start (Anyone had problems playing the Witcher (Fully patched) on Vista? Just keeps crashing. Mabye something to do with graphics card drivers, but on any account that's an unwanted inconvience.), and it's the most expensive. In terms of games it does not have an advantage over the PS3 or 360, that is if you ignore games that can be played on a low end PC anyway. I would say there is very little worth upgrading your PC for, unless you are obsesed with having the best looking games. From my experiences with PC gaming, something allways goes wrong, and at the end of the day all the effort I used to fix the problems could have gone into playing the games, which I could have done on a console anyway. I can't think of one PC game I've played recently that hasn't had some problem with it due to the system its self. (Civ 4, The Witcher, Crysis etc.)

I put the PS3 over the 360 because for a start it's not as badly put together. Infact it should mabye be lower from my personal experiences seeing as it broke twice. I also prefer the games on the PS3 at the moment. It's main problem is that its too expensive.

Wii comes last because of a weak library. It still has some good games though which make it worth while.

dont usaly like doing things like this but yeah 1st. PC, 2nd. tie between ps3 and 360, 3rd. wii (i feel bad about this sytem because it pretty much collects dust in my gaming cabinet, just wish good games were steadily coming out)

Obviously not, even though I use them everyday, and have studied them for the past 4 years. Yeah guess I know nothing about computers. Unoftunatly I can't say anything worse to you than that.

I can build a PC, I can manipulate a PC, on what grounds can you claim I don't know how to use one, or are you just upset that I didn't come out and confess my love for PC gaming? Want to tell me how to fix my random crashes with The Witcher? Their technical support couldn't, think you could? Want to buy me a new sound card to replace the one that dosn't work with Civilisation 4? That would be nice thanks. Want to fix my problems with Crysis that causes it to minimise while using sound options? Yeah that would be awesome, but you know what? You can't. Mabye I should just stick to consoles because even after knowing how to use a PC, it still isn't worth it. Mabye I'm allowed to like other platforms for other reasons. In the future would you mind keeping those uninformed comments to your self? Thanks.
