Look at her all silver, with that pointy head.... and that stone she is sporting. She is the Master Sword. That's why he has his shield and the only thing in the pic missing is his sword.... shes in the pic instead because she is the sword. So this implies that the Master Sword is more than just a sword, but its also some kind of spirit like being. Likely you have to work together on your quest. Case closed.

I really hope they evolve the design somewhat..... Twilight Princess, while good, was quite dissapointing.... as it really did feel asthough it was lending itself too much to its previous titles. It felt really.. teathered.

The crosshatch pattern on the legs are also remind me of the triforce carving on the bottom of the blade (first sword pic on the right))

Actually the crosshatch pattern is more reminiscent of the actual in game Master Sword's hilt. That replica you used isn't all that accurate. Edit: Not the clearest image but look closely and you'll see what I mean. (no I can't be bothered trying to locate a better image).

I'm assuming it's a sword when you want it to be a sword but then you can do something to turn it into that spirit. That's just my guess though.

It has to be something alike that. Maybe it's a girl cursed to be a sword, or the mastersword cursed to be a girl :P and he'll have to find other means of fighting. Or it can just morph like in reallife. Maybe in this Zelda theme items come to life. Btw doesn't it look more like Link is protecting her, than using her as a weapon of sorts?

i think miyamoto reads too much Soul Eater. For those of you that don't know what it is, it's a manga with Death Gods who have partners that transform into weapons
