Left 4 Dead, Banjo, Ninja Gaiden 2, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia, Fable II, Too Human were all announced before 2008. other than Gears 2, which we all knew was going to be released this year before they announced it, all X360 exclusives this year were announced before 2008.

I agree with you, MS do announce games early. That's not to say they are quite as bad as Sony though. I've been waiting years for Splinter Cell, Killzone 2, Alan Wake and Home so both companies can burn in Hades as far as I'm concerned.

At least microsoft doesn't announce games 4 years in advance (KZ2), besides, your just a big fanboy anyway based on that post so I doubt anything you say is valid.

Edit: Gears 2 wasn't announced until this year by the way.

In the last update with the new trailer we got they said they will take all the time they need and will release it when it's ready.

OK generally speaking it is true that MS announce and then release games within a year. Ok, I'm sure some titles have taken over a year before being a released after they were announced but overall it's true,no?

Gears is the sequel to a game made two years ago. Sequels can get pumped out a little faster. You dig in 06 and tell me what gem you think will make a huge annoucement and release next year. The truth is games take time to make and devs wanna show them off early to build hype. Sony, MS and Nintendo both do this, its just selective for MS fanboys to pick on Sony. Even if you look last year ME, Bioshock, Forza, Halo 3 were its biggest games and all annouced well before 07.

I agree no company has shown off all their cards for TWO years worth of gaming but to expect a multitude of huge announced and released next year games is silly.

It is true, sorry mate but microsoft are much better at announcing titles then releasing them in a respectable amount of time. Whether it's a year, slightly over or even 2 years, it's all pretty good from them unlike what Sony have been doing with their titles and even with some pc titles and for that, in my opinion they should be commended for it, and I'm no lemming saying that either.

Commended for what?? The PS3 has been availble for two years and so far it has released Resistance, Motorstor Uncharted, Warhawk, HS and Ratchet close to its first year and MGS4, Motorstorm 2, SOCOM, LBP and Resistance 2 during its second. We are still waiting on GT5 but they released GTP, and FFXIII but that game is now multiplat which most likly is the reason why its been taking so long. MS fans are still waiting on Alan Wake and SC conviction and Alan Wake is going on three years of waiting?

Like I said All companies are bad when it comes to annoucements.

That bolded part is your problem, we DON'T KNOW. We dont know anything about annoucements or game release dates. Both companies have annouced games for 09 and both have games they will annouce 1st quarter for the fall of that year.

becuase they cant even get the game working on one system in a decent amount of time not less two systems.

They are trying to make splinter cell an ambitous title and its been delayed and delayed

Yeah I've already covered this in my previous post. Yes you can focus on individual titles, so yes Alan Wake is taking a long time but again taking into account ALL the games being released, the overall trend is that MS announce a game and within say 18 months it is released. I mean look at Gears of War 2, look at when Fable 2 was announced, look at when Halo 3 Recon was announced and when it will be released.

Now go back and look at when various games on PS3 were 'announced'. The trend is that Sony have a tendancy to announce games much much earlier. Some of this stems from Sony announcing games a year before the PS3 had even launched.

Also, when I used the word commended, I was stating my opinion.

For what it is worth, I think Sony have improved with how fast R2 and Motorstorm 2 have been released.

But the announcement to release dates have been getting tighter and tighter over the years. I wouldnt be supprised if a whole bunch of 2009 games will be announced at GDC and the like.

i don't get your point. Games are usually announced in advance. What is wrong with that? MS has no control when 3rd party announce their games. I thought this was about announcements with release dates like Home which was suppose to launch since the Fall of 2007.
