While I agree with everything you say, you perpetuate a myth of your own. You say "33% fail" regarding the 360. Truthfully, we have no real way of know what the actual failure rate is. What we DO know is that this is a hardware design issue and that every single 360 made from launch until the end of the year (as you state), has the potential to fail from the same issue.

However, to say that 33% fail is an actual provable number, or that it applies to the future for people who own the current machine, or planning on buying one this year, is false. You can't honestly tell someone buying the 360 today that they shouldn't worry because only 33% fail. That's not true. We're told that only 33% so far have failed but have no way of proving this and know way of knowing if, over time, that number will increase.
