Yeah and now that they are gone poeple see it as nintendo giving up on the hardcore gamers. Imo their support is just as good as it was back in the day except they just dont have a rare to perfectly fill the holes that they leave.
I agree with the first sentence not the second alot of n64 games are still fun to play i never played banjo kazooie before last month and i love it
My god, that one company actually saved Nintendo's ass. Although, the N64 is an average system and is only praised today because of nostalgia factor. Almost all of its games have aged very poorly whilst games from the 16-bit era are fun to play.MeltedweaselAre you kidding me? Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, and especially Conker did not save the system. You have no knowledge of what made the system great.

Without Rare Nintendo wouldn't have been able to sustain the system. They were always delaying their games for example. If it wasn't for Goldeneye (which outsold OOT) and Diddy Kong Racing, the N64 would've been dead before Ocarina of Time hit shelves.
YOu've got to be kidding me dude. I will go out and say that Rare made more better games for Nintendo then Nintendo did.N64 was fine without rare, hell the 360 would be fine without rare.

While I do agree Rare made some of the best classics on the system. It could hold it's own with Nintendo's classics, BUT TC is correct that Rare put N64 on the map but saying it would have failed without Rare is too much of an exaggeration.[QUOTE="AHUGECAT"][QUOTE="Blazerdt47"] Are you kidding me? N64 was truly their peak period.

Perfect dark, Golden eye, DK64, Conker, Banjo 1, banjo 2, jet force jemini and Diddy kong racing.

Prove me wrong then. This is the only crap I'm reading from butthurt Nintendo fanboys.Well at that time Rare was owned by Nintendo, so Nintendo had a lot of input in those games, for proof, just check Rare games without Nintendo. Maybe it is the other way around, without Nintendo, Rare would never got all the recognition it has,

I agree, rare really has fallen from their pedestal since leaving nintendo.
If you had said Rare + Nintendo I would have agreed with you. But without Rare the system would still have great games like Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox, F-Zero, Pilotwings, 1080, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, the three Mario Party games and others.

My mistake, I was thinking about the one on Gamecube. Although, the games Rare made were a ton better than almost the entire games you listed by Nintendo. When will you sheep give credit to Rare for saving the N64?[QUOTE="WTA2k5"][QUOTE="Meltedweasel"]My god, that one company actually saved Nintendo's ass. Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Star Fox 64, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart. There were plenty of non-Rare third-party games as well: Tony Hawk, Paper Mario, Excitebike, Resident Evil 2, NFL Blitz, and Rayman 2 just to give some examples.
Not as good without Rare? Sure. Still pretty damn awesome? Yep.

Many forums I've been to. At IGN not too long ago I remember there was a thread(poll) about if people would still play Goldeneye now. If Nintendo had as much input as MS then they really had NOTHING to do with the games Rare made. It was their creativity and nothing else. That sniveling character known as Miyamoto bashing Rare for making Donkey Kong Country is enough proof that Nintendo had little to do with Rare's success.Wow alot of these people posting are really funny. Look at the new franchises Rare created and all of the games people have named are all triple AAA or AA franchises.
I would take Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Jet Force Gemini, DONKEY KONG 64 (that no one named), Killer Instinct, Blast Corps, and Mickey' Speedway USA ANYWAY over....
Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64, Smash Bros and the rest of the crappy Mario Sport and Party games.
Rare didn't necessarily make the N64 because Nintendo had alot of popularity from the SNES but they definitly saved them.
Whoever disagrees is just hating on them because they aren't with Nintendo anymore.
Kinda agree cuz N64 with out Golden eye,PD,Get Force Gemini,Banjo and Conker would be just another nothing special console but since it had RARE=best console ever.SyferonikSuper Mario 64, Legend of Zelda OoT, Legend of Zelda MM, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, Donkey Kong 64 say hello, along with many others.

Let's not forget about the Turok games, Rayman, Starcraft, etc.. other great titles on that system not made by Rare.[QUOTE="Blazerdt47"][QUOTE="Meltedweasel"]
