Namco: Big Tales of surprise soon. Tales of PS4 leaked?

Looks like Namco Bandai is teasing something big this year in regards to the Tales of franchise and possibly either a completely new Tales game for PS3 AND PS4 or Tales of Zesteria ( releasing soon this year on PS3 ) for PS4 and Steam? ( Sony's new Japan trailer sort of leaked a Tales of Zesteria PS4 )

Can't get worse than Xillia can it? I mean, Tales of Hearts R wasn't bad.

Considering Baba/Team Tales' relationship with Sony, I wouldn't be surprised.

Maybe yet another other one of their games are coming to PC :D

Anyways I really steam entry for Zestiria ends up being confirmed. Hate to have to buy a console for a single series, otherwise.

I would enjoy a PS4 Tales game, but I'm not hearing good things about Zesteria. Would rather it be a new game. Hell, I'd even take a Vesperia remaster on the PS4.

if this is exclusive to ps4 its another nail in xb1/pc coffin a lot of those ppl game on pc now if they can't get the game on pc they aren't going to xbox there not going to wii

Dude. Hearts R made me want to kick a puppy.

the majority of the negative stuff is due to namcos crappy job at promotion and how alot of people felt tricked by them. Gameplay wise the most negative iv seen and heard was some bad camera angles during combat.

if you hated the cast from the first one you wont like the second one. Its basically the same cast just now with 3 new playable characters. 2 of those characters still being from part 1. I personally liked the xillia cast so I had no problem with it.

As for Hearts, it wasn't close to bring my favorite, but it was the one I've enjoyed the most since Vesperia. I'm really hoping Zestiria doesn't disappoint.

You didnt like Xillia? how come? i personally loved it.. havent beat Tales of Hearts R ( addicted to PS4 :( ) and have yet to get xillia 2 due to the fact that maybe namco will bring it to ps4

doubt xillia 2 will come to ps4. If anything zestiria is a much more likely candidate for that. Also I really enjoyed both xillia games. Though I get confused when some people are like "xillia 2 is such a massive overhaul from 1 and if you hated part 1 theres a chance you will like part 2" it didint feel like that at all. If anything it felt like if you like 1 part 2 is just more of it. Its just a bit shorter.

With leaked footage shown in the ad by Sony i'd say PS4 zesteria is about 90% happening by now but still if nothing shown by the end of the year i'll get Xillia 2 though i havent been turned on my PS3 for months now.

I guess the best post Vesperia Tales for me is the original Xillia? And even that was mediocre. Really shows you show badly the series has fallen since.

The Japanese slamming the hell out of Tales of Zesteria is not really giving me much hope for it being a good game.

I'm still getting the game. I can't pass up a Tales game, especially if it's on the PS4. Just there hasn't been a great tales game since Vesperia.

@charizard1605: I don't know why they're struggling so much to make a Tales game as good as Vesperia. It was the best looking one too and that was on 360. The Tales games on PS3 look kind of bland and dull.

A Vesperia sequel or brand new Tales on PS4 would be fantastic therefore that's exactly what it won't be.

It would be funny if the next Tales game is literally called Tales of PS4.

@Lulu_Lulu: The developers are already testing the waters of PC gaming with an unrelated free to play fighting game. Given Japan's lack of faith in PC gaming, their first PC game can easily be their last.

Zestiria is supposedly the worse than Xilia, so there you go.

If I had a PC I'd throw money at that...... yes I actually don't have a gaming PC...... I just want everybody to have it all.....

My guess for their surprises are:

- Tales of Zesteria coming to PS4 and being localized in the West on PS3 and PS4

- Tales of Innocence R is being localized for PS Vita

- Tales of Vesperia remaster with all DLC on PS4 (it could happen)

- Tales of... title on iPhone/Android

Would be excited for the first three.

2nd game is actually really good. It actually has a story and characters that make sense.

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but I really doubt that will actually happen. Game came out in 2012 and it wasn't super popular to begin with.

Tales of Zesteria have already been announced for the West on PS3.

It looks amazing though i personally really want it though would prefer a PS4 version as i dont play my ps3 anymore.

The opening for zesteria is sort of bad :P

@Lulu_Lulu: If anything is in a delicate position, it's Japan's disposition towards PC gaming in general. Where Aliens: Colonial Marines would discourage PC gamers from pre-ordering video games, the failed release of Cladun X2 would do the exact opposite.

I won't be surprised if Rise of Incarnates ends up being used as an excuse to keep Tales and Tekken off of Steam.

Tales of series died after Vesperia.

thats exactly where all the slamming from japan is coming from. Iv seen little gameplay complaints. Like I said the biggest complaint gameplay wise is a at times crappy battle camra. The main slam is that they promoted the hell out of 2 characters. The main male lead and what everyone else thought to be the main female lead. Fans found out the hard way the female only stays around for a little bit and is taken out the game forever after that and the only way to see what happens to her and to use her again is to pony up the cash for her dlc.

@extrodinare101: I agree, I couldn't even finished tales of graces F. I have yet to finish xilia 2, but so far I don't find it has interesting as Xillia.

its was going to be 1,300 yen,but since its the 20th anniversary and the game sold 400,000 copies it was free from feb 12-28. Im guessing this has more to do with the insane backlash people gave cause the false promotion of said character and having to drop cash to actualy use her more and finding out what happened to her.

I finished it but holy sh*t was it bad, terrible characters, story, battle system, and some of the worst dungeons, that Bathus Citadel was designed by someone who was smoking up big time.

If Tales games really are getting a PC release then it's an interesting shift in publishing focus for Japanese developers, especially following the announcement that Sega is doing the same. I'm not a fan of the Tales series myself, but I imagine those that are will probably get a PS4 anyways as I figure they're JRPG fans and there's probably still lots in that market that caters toward the PS4 crowd. But, nonetheless, I think it's a great move expanding the market for JRPGs to be inclusive of the PC, after all a wider market means more sales, making the publishers stronger and should make them stronger to invest in new IPs, also existing ones, and maybe open new studios and expand. I feel in many ways room growth is something the gaming industry needs at the moment because in many ways I feel the current industry has been contracting too much over the last few years.

A PC release would honestly get me more pumped than a PS4 release. if only because of the wider implications it will hold for the Japanese game market.

I had a PS3, I still don't give a shit about any Tales post Vesperia. Xillia was awful, Xillia 2 was somehow worse, and Graces F might be one of the worst 'mainstream' games to have come out in a very long time.

Meanwhile, Hearts R was just mediocre and underwhelming, and-

Hopefully Zestiria is not shit. I don't have many hopes, however.
