Wow, sometimes games on console can look better than some games on PC if the fevelopers do it right........

King of Fighters XII

Say what you want about gameplay, but don't deny the graphics are amazing.

Killzone 2 as well. Didn't like the gameplay but boy was it pretty.

nice of you to show the uglist pick of MGS4. at times, the game looks great... then you see a ground texture like that and you think,"dear god, is this MGS3?"

i don't really understand how resident evil 5 got a spot over Gears2.

The art of Uncharted makes it look better than gears, but technically they appear pretty equal.

MGS4 is ugly :?

Why do people always list MGS4? Yeah the character models are great, but everything else is meh. Anyway, i'd say Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Gears of War 2, Resident Evil 5 and FFXIII (PS3 version)Anjunaddict

There are tons of great looking games, but these stand out the most to me. I reckon there could be some titles to replace some of these this year :). Some of them even releasing soon.

EDIT: I didtn't list FFXIII because I haven't played it yet. Mass Effect 2 is a great looking game with superb character models. But the overal package concerning environmental textures, glitches (for lack of a specific term), and polish, it's not up there.

Because of these reasons (experience from the 360 version):

• ME2 has lesser-quality animaions - some stiff manikin-like movement and facial quirks (like eyeballs rolling around in their sockets).
  
• More graphical glitches/ issues that can remove you from the experience - texture pop-in, clipping issues (even saw a cigar pasted onto an Elcor merchant's face in Omega :|), some rough transitions between dialogue interruptions/ cutscenes, and random blips of character assets showing onto the scene when they're not supposed to.
  
• More jaggies - I'm not one to get hung up over jags, but I found them to be more prevelant in ME2. To whatever degree.
• The level design in some cases were bland and uninspired (mainly combat zones).
  

The package is great, just not enough to take a place on my list. Both MGS4 and ME2 have their share of great to OK texture work as well.

Don't think I hate the game though! I just gave it a 9.5! Love it overall :).

I don't know, I think all the big titles look amazing, why do graphic matter anymore. Even the lower budget games look good

Horrible quality pick of an enlarged pick of MGS4, here are much better ones

Super Metroid, Syphon Filter, Perfect Dark, Shadow of the Colossus and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay.

As far as realism, Killzone 2. And Uncharted 2 and Resident Evil 5 are pretty much tied, maybe U2 has a slight edge. And talk about Mass Effect 2's graphics bothers me. It is a great game with outstanding gameplay and an outstanding story but while the graphics are good they don't compare to some console games.

brickdoctor, youre joking right? RE5 isnt in the same league as KZ2 and U2. KZ2 and U2 are farbetter technicallythan RE5 in every aspect except the PC RE5 version having more anti aliasing, and higher visual resolution.

Although it is an impressive looking game, Killzone 2's graphics didn't really appeal to me. Technically a beast but i hate that they did so much to make it look like s&*^%. After downloading the "inside the bullet" thing on PSN, I think they could've done without some of the filters. Still one of the best looking console games and definitely in the top 10.
