We all know that the biggest weakness of Natal is the fact there are no buttons to press. However, I think Microsoft CAN introduce buttons in the future, by introducing a nunchuck-like accessory. You see, Natal tracks your hand movements, so if you have a nunchuck in your hand, Natal could calculate the position of your hand, and then determine where the nunchuck is or which position it is facing. Maybe it would help if the nunchuck had some kind of accelerometer, but it wouldn't need any complex technology if Natal already knows where your hards are. I am no expert in these things, but I'm sure Microsoft is capable enough to introduce a nunchuck to Natal:)

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think MS will do this one day? I know we all hate buying loads of accesories, but I think MS will do this once Natal gets more popular and the games require buttons. They won't introduce nunchuks straight away (they want the entry cost to be small), but once Natal becomes mainstream, a nunchuk accesory would be a great idea. Thoughts?

WelI I won't blame you if you don't get it - motion controls have complex codes in order to work properly. I doubt anybody on this forum understands motion controllers in extreme detail, but for a massive company like Microsoft, making codes for motion sensing would be a walk in the park

It would completely ruin their "controllerless" moto (remember E3 09, the guy stated something like the best controller ever made = you :P). People would call fail on MS as well as accusing them to rip off the PS Move.

I think the biggest problem Natal has is moving from A to B. Lets just say you were playing Halo, how would you move forward? even if they introduced a nunchuck adaptor, wouldn't that get in the way if you were trying to strafe left but physically moving to the right. Or maybe I'm just not thinking clearly.

Well if Natal ever becomes mainstream/popular some time in the future, people would be *begging* for a nunchuck. Look how many people beg Sony to add another analog stick on the PSP for example. If people want to offer their money to buy a new nunchuk for Natal, do you think Microsoft would decline the offer to make some extra money :P

If natal did get somethign like a nunchuck, then the commercials would be pointless as it would not have no controller. Basically making a much laggier move

The 360 controller requires both hands to be used comfortably. With both your hands bound, how else are you going to use Natal? Jumping around the room? Kicking your feet up? I am sure a nunchuck would be more suitable than a traditional gamepad when being used with Natal.

You can use your hands still. You don't need both hands on the controller all the time.

I thought the whole point of it was that you wouldn't need buttons, seems like a waste of time if you have to buy a nunchuk later down the line to actually make any decent games work.

So you buy Natal to not use a controller, but then you have to buy a controller too?

So it's going to be $100 + a $30 controller?

I say if they end up bringing out a physical device for Natal they basically know it's failing.

Well it DEPENDS on the game. SOME games don't require buttons, while other games do. I would buy Natal for motion control, but not to get rid of buttons entirely :S

The purpose of Natal is for Microsoft to make money. I dont see how introducing a nunchuck is going to stop that from happening. Natal is just an advanced camera, nothing more, nothing less. It was not designed to make controllers obsolete, it can be used for anything you want it to be. My laptop has an in-built camera. Oh noes my keyboard and mouse are obsolete because of the camera

I thought Kevin butler already displayed how it works. You point your hand at the screen and yell BOOM
