Now I personally think Natal will be something which can be awesome, depending on how the developers go about it. I personally do believe certain developers, I see Rare and Lionhead in particular here, doing some amazing things, creating new genres which we have yet to see.

However, this is a pretty obvious use which hasn't been brought up- PC games. Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, MMOs, etc. could easily be adapted for the Natal control scheme. This is a very reserved idea imo and I'd say it'll happen- it's not like Blizzard doesn't like consoles, it's just the types of games they make don't work well on it. So yea, I'm calling it, Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 for Natal, in 2088...just kidding about that part...but whenever it comes out I say.

This applies to a wider variety of rtses in general. To an extent MMOs as well.

- And then there's always headtracking, but that's more so going into tech.

This. Starcraft 2 would be an utter failure on NATAL as far as competitive gaming goes.........which is what the game is being designed for.

How do you have less precision? I'd imagine a drag map with a mini map as well. You'd lack hotkeys, but I'll be frank, I never use them. I guess they could map that to voice anyway. As far as diablo, this comment doesn't exactly apply.

Look at the videos, Natal is extremely accurate.

Unless Natal can show me precise controls it will never replace a control or mouse/keyboard.

Hotkeys are very important in both Diablo and Starcraft (if you want to win)

It may be a fun experience, as in just fun to play the game. But it will probably be a step down in precision and as such is impractical. Also being that games like WOW are played for ridiculous amounts of time (and many RTS games can have long matches) using something like Natal could well be very tiring...

Well, not in Diablo. While moving the mouse to those icons is harder on the computer, it shouldn't be a problem with natal.

You assign hotkeys in Diablo to switch skills faster and you must do that frequently on Hell difficulty and during duels. I played Diablo II for eight years I think I would know.

What I don't understand is why would you want it for Natal when you could use the Wiimote or PS Wand to emulate a mouse? It would be much easier than using hand gestures.

But you would still have to make that movement, where as on a keyboard your finger is already there, no movement is necessary. Also for an RTS how would you designate armies (as in Army 1,2,3,4.....), you couldnt micromanage a base, or say order a tank built, without going to your base, where as with keyboard alone you could do it in an instant while still directing your forces. . For MMO's you would be very hard pressed to juggle abilities. It could be fun to play, sure, but it will be a slower experience, and it would have to be single player or less competitive....

Well that's where voice could come in handy. As far as MMOs, I do see your point.

Obviously no one here has seen the movie Gamer. If they can make it work in a movie, then it can work in real life, I can't wait to start controlling my own Gerard Butler.
