Ok so I been reading Abut Project Natal and some peoples Comments and I think some people Misunderstand Natal First I will Post What Natal Can do

(1) The depth sensor consists of an infrared projector combined with a monochrome CMOS sensor,

NOTE: (This is very different from the eye Toy that only reads shadows )

(2) Project Natal sensor to see in 3D under any ambient light conditions

NOTE: (So it can see in the Dark because its technically not a camera)

(3) the sensor based on game play and the player's physical environment, such as the presence of chairs

NOTE: (It reads body movements as well as a 3D Representation of what's around you)

(4) capable of simultaneously tracking up to four users

(5) Project Natal is capable of tracking models that can identify individual fingers

NOTE: (It's Sensitive Enof to Even Read Face Expressions and do face recognition)

(6) (speech recognition)

.

A lot of people think it's useless but thats only because you have to be Open Minded

This would be so grate for games like

Fight night 4 round boxing

Even games like Fallout/Mass Effect Reading Your Facial Expressions + speech recognition some amazing game interaction

IT DON'T NESESARLY MEAN NO CONTROL

Natal can be use Side by side whit the Controller the Microsoft X10 prove this on FableIII

Games like MW2 Wont use Natal OBIOSLY you won't run all over the house

But games similar to Arcade House of the Dead can become more interactive

Or even WiiFit would be amazing on Natal

What You all think?

NATAL sounds good in theory, like all new ideas. I am not getting my hopes up yet. From what they have demoed of the unit, I am less than impressed. Only time will tell.

Speech Recognition is nothing special in Natal,to do that you just need microphone and software

I don't know why people are druging as something special, this is most common part of Natal

I'm looking forward to it. It sounds like it could be fun. Why not have it is the real question. I'll probably still only play games mostly with controller but if I'm looking for something like a Wii experience where I'm just hoping to have a bit of fun with a couple of friends, no serious gaming, then I think it could be good for that.

To be fair, the speech recognition model they are using is pretty well thought out, it's based on the W3C SRGS model and automatically feeds sounds from the game into the recognition software to do active noise cancellation of game related noises. Nothing completely groundbreaking, but a nice feature to have.

TC, you're providing some valid information, but you're kind of misrepresenting the situation when you say "Natal can do this." Natal is just a sensor array, providing depth, color, and sound information. The APIs provided by Microsoft and the implementations created by individual studios is where the real magic is created.

Whats the point of me playing with Natal and having a controller in my hand, confining my range of motion's. It like, defeats the purpose. I don't like the "hands free" gaming either.

It will need to use the 360's CPU, or so I heard, so the game will be considerably more weaker than the other games on the 360.

I don't think anyone can judge it properly until we see some of the games Microsoft is supporting it with at E3.

I'm happy for people who are looking forward to Natal and when one of my friends happens to buy it, I'll probably check it out, but I can't see myself putting down the money to buy it. It just doesn't seem like its for me.

Regardless of the core components that comprise Natal, the principle concept is still the same. You move your arms and legs to play video games. Like the Wii. But really high tech.

Not interested. I will change my tune if it starts to look less like a gimmick made to stave off the Wii's huge lead, but I doubt that's going to happen. It's not the technical specs that are keeping me away from it.

If they get rid of that lag, it might be worth playing. Otherwise...meh
