Natascha McElhone was perfectly cast for Lords of Shadow (as Marie)

Not only did she do an incredible job, it should have been her, not Patrick Stewert, narrating the game.

But either by irony or by influence, her role in the game kind of parallels the actress's own personal loss of her husband in 2008.

Interesting....and it may have been a factor in her giving it her all in her performance of Marie. Truly the games story was at its best when her character was on screen.

Should of shown past relationship between her and Gabriel so that I'm able to give a damn about bringing her back to life and Patrick Stewart narrating gave so many hints to the ends it's not even funny. Her voice acting was good though.

they could have shown their past relationship but Marie's character is so strong when she appears it wasn't that necessary. But the game has too few cutscenes....overcorrecting a Kojima problem of too much cutscene. Laura in particular should have got more screentime to flesh her out.

Her voice acting is much preferred over Patrick Stewart's. He spoke way too slow and dragged syllables way too much. She was the highlight of the game when it came to VA's and characters.

Definitely had too few and I think the cutscenes that showed gabriel while asleep would of been the perfect time for scenes in the past with Marie and Gabriel

Doesn't mention her Castlevania role...

Was it a coincidence that she had a role dealing with lossor did she find that the role was important to her to deal with her loss???? A very interesting but perfect casting.

The voice acting was all around quite good.....its no where near Mass Effect 2 or Red Dead Redemptions level....Liz Sroka did a hell of a job as Tali, but Castlevania's VA was quite good.

He's referring to Batman, but I didn't know this discussion was about which game has the best voice acting.

which is not what the topic is about...the topic is about the voice actress playing a role that hits close to home. I canoot believe this was not noticed when she was cast.

too bad the story was idiotic, the combat was uninspired, the puzzles were frustrating beyond belief and the fun factor was completely nonexistent.

far less idiotic that say GOW III....oh an its combat is far more inspired than GOW III...at actually takes "skill". Castlevania's story is far from perfect, but its pretty smart however.
