So, I'm thinking about grabbing one of the 2K NBA games, because I'm kind of craving some basketball, and haven't played any sports games in a long time, and basketball ones were my favorite way back in the day. I was doing a wee bit of reading about the differences between 2k13 and 2k12, and I'm lookin for insight. They're close to each other in review scores, both here, and on MC, but I'm kind of interested in the "NBA's Greatest" mode in 2k12, which says it does historical recreations of iconic old rivalries and careers. Is that as cool as it could be? And does 2k13 have anything like that?

2K12 Better soundtrack and Myplayer doesnt suck as much. 2K13 was a step back IMO, still a great game but it was a bit of a let down.

2K12. On a side note, I heard that 2K14 will be executive produced by Kanye West.

I haven't heard that but it can't be worse than Jay Z. I love Jay Z but 2K13's soundtrack is trash. It lacked the variety that past 2K games had.

Sounds like 2k12 is the way to go, eh? Yeah, I wasn't super stoked on the idea of Jay-Z's involvement with 2k13. I don't dislike Jay-Z, but I don't particularly like him, either.

So how's the "NBA's Greatest" historical mode or whatever? Is it sweet?

I know. It's terrible. But system wars has the most regular posters. Therefore, most likely to get responses from people who have played the games in question, and get them fast.

Both have glitches in association mode, so if you plan on playing that wait for 2k14. But between the two, NBA 2K12 is a little better.

2K12 can be a buggy un playable mess, I don't know if it was the copy I had but it seriously wouldn't even play past the first game.

Absolutely under NO circumstances should you even bother with 2k12. This series has had a major problem with the AI of defenders. 2k11 was abysmal in that respect. 2k12, they cleaned up some of it, but the no look steal is still prevelant and annoying as hell. There are some other bizzare quirks as well. 2k13 still has no look steals. (STILL!!!!!)

It's a better game overall.

Did you install it? I personally recommend 2k12 over 13. I know me having spent 200 hours or more on both games won't mean anything though. :P

both r solid games but u would be waaaay better of grabbing 13. 12's d is atrocious at best. if u have any skill in the game and u like to play on h.o.f and simulation, 13 is completely better. i'm telling u now tho, players hit shots in both games that they have absolutely no business hitting. it's almost like the people at 2k have either never played or watched bball before.
