Microsoft doesn't market well to casuals. The PS3 is wayyy to expensive for most casuals. This leaves Nintendo to scoop up the market.Casuals don't buy 20 games a year either.

the only way ms would win if they give there systems away for free cus without japan there not wining anythingdeadmeat59I thought the 360 was doing better in Japan recently with the release of Blue Dragon? I remember seeing news of lineups to buy the 360 - blue dragon bundle. I can see the momentum moving in the 360's direction so that lucrative Japanese market could easily move to MS's camp especially if a few big name Japanese developers support the system. Look what happened to Nintendo with the loss of just 1 game (FF7).
They still have the Europe release to save themselves. If it can become a hit there, then they might be able to keep up with the 360 and the Wii.RahnAetas

Yeah. A year head start with good sales will do that. well its not MS's fault that sony couldnt get their system ready when they said they would. so sure a year head start does help. but since the ps3 release the 360 has still been killing it in sales. o and japan isnt the territory to win anymore, so the whole take japan and you win thing is out the window.

You seem to be forgetting entirely about Nintendo. And Japan can be a huge difference maker. The biggest reason the SNES won the 16-bit war is because it outsold the Genesis in Japan by 17 million units. Then again, with the Wii outselling the 360 in every territory, that may be a moot point.
It's becoming quite clear that the PS3 is not going to be the runaway hit the PS2 was. Face it guys, no company has ever won the console wars 3 times in a row, if Nintendo couldn't do it, Sony couldn't either. This time it's going to be Xbox 360's time to shine. If Sony hopes of taking back the number one position next time they had better start designing the next system NOW and release it at the saem time as Xbox 360 2 or whatever they call it. MS's competition is too strong for Sony to be coming 1 year late into the game.CaptainCrazyI'm sorry, but that is one poor excuse for logic right there.

They are dead last in Japan.Exactly my point...
Incase you haven't noticed, there's Resistance and Motorstorm right now... that's it.
By the holiday season, Grand Theft Auto IV, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, Oblivion, LittleBigPlanet, Tekken 6, and Singstar will be out, rumble will be put back in the controllers, Home will have launched, and Blu-Ray will more than likely be the only HD format on shelves. And also, PS3 hasn't even launched in Australia, Europe, and the Middle East yet.
Yes, these are terrible sales, but really, can you blame consumers? There's nothing out right now, but things will surely change by the end of the year.

Someone who's smart, and plus these are February sales not even March...

I know. I was agreeing with you.ps3 only has 127k sold :? its over for the ps3RTweaponchangeWishful thinking considering the system isn't even a year old. I can understand there are those who have purchased another system and want Sony to fail in order to justify their own purchasing decision. Unfortunately, you're going to have to give it a bit more than 6 months to declare the current market leader dead.

Incase you haven't noticed, there's Resistance and Motorstorm right now... that's it.True, there is a lot of potential in the fall 07 lineup. But what if consumers still don't go PS3 nuts next holiday season? It could spell disaster. Well, for you guys I really hope it works out. With all our differences, we are all still gamers at heart.

And which system u think will last 10 years out of the 3? Thats all I gotta say. Just because of these early numbers, doesnt mean nuttin. Look for the ps3 to take off after its been in the market for a year. Sony has 150 titles there studios are working on alone, and this is not even including all the other games from other developers like capcom, koei, and others. Give it time man, and u will see. I own both an xbox 360 and a ps3 and call me crazy for buying a ps3, but one thing I do know is sony will always deliver with games. U know how halo fans are about that one game, its the same way I am with alot of games that are sony exclusive games, this is why I bought the system, because as soon as the sony hitters come out, u gonna see people start buying ps3's. :)

lol damage control No. It's the truth. To write off the market leader so soon would be stupid.PS3 won't fail but its definitely going to be outclassed by the 360 becuase more devs are goign to support the system with the highest installed base and that's the 360. MS's internal game studios are ramping up with some incredible exclusives and 3rd party games will launch on 360 first.CaptainCrazyand Nintendo is killing both of them.
Incase you haven't noticed, there's Resistance and Motorstorm right now... that's it.gta4 will be for 360 also so people will buy 360s to play gta 4 not a ps3 why? cause of price whyt pay 600 to play the same game andthe same way on a 400 machine same deal with oblivion and assassin's creed, 2nd tekken 6 comes out in 08 singstar is for casuals and casuals aint gonna pay 600, europe is only gonna add like 1million units more then after launch sales will be almost the same as here. also europeans are not stupid there system cost more and does not have full bc i think the wii will win europe.
