Need advice please! (Xbox 360 or PS3)

well i would go with the 360 because it comes with 3 games and the head set

but its your decision which oneyou want more

If you have no HDTV then get the 360. It's great on a SDTV and the games look great. Oh and the 360 has a great line-up next year.

O my god I am going insane. I've decided I'm going to get a new system 4 days ago and I still haven't reached a damn conclusion. This is going to be the last thread I make and I am going to make a damn decision before the day ends. So anyway the deal I am getting is $369 (for both)

PS3 (40GB):
- HDMI Cable (I have no HDTV)
- Ratchet and Clank (Good game)
- Spiderman 3 (Don't care)

Xbox 360 (20GB) (Pro package I believe so...)
- Xbox live headset
- Halo 3
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance
- Forza 2
- HDMI Cable (I have no HDTV)

Including tax in Canada would be $407 and no I am making no mistake on the prices. I think I'm getting good deals here because the systems are not going to dip in price for a while. Alright so what would really help me are some reasons why I would choose one over the other. If you could name some exclusives for each that would be great. Another thing is that I have a gaming PC, and I know a lot of Xbox 360 exclusives are on PC as well. Please put (PC) beside the X360 exclusives.

Honestly, if it wasn't for Halo 3, Gears of War, Xbox Live, and the fact that 3 out of 5 ppl in my school have a 360, I would have picked PS3. Unlike before where I got all 3 last-gen systems, I am ONLY going to buy 1 this time (because it was a waste of my money to buy so much). Please help me make a wise decision. Thanks all.

Devil may cry is also on 360 and PC.

Gears of war now it is on PC.

COD 4 is also on PS3.

As for other games you mentioned, they are not going anywhere else.

If you wanna go with the PS3, search for the 60GB or a good deal for the 80GB, if you wanna know why, PM me. ;)

Xbox 360: Currently leading the NEXT GEN console race (Wii=gamecube hardware with new controller) it is comparible in power to the PS3 at current it has the most available games and a wider selection of genres, It also has the most exclusive titles and has a great albeit costly online service Includin the achievement system which is a smart and addictive way of gettin the most out of ur games. and DL Xbox 1 games

PS3: although it is behind in sales, largely due to the price, it is the most powerfull and prestigues of the two console it uses Blu-ray technology which is rappidly over taking DVD9 as the standard media format and is technically superior to hd-dvd as for games the PS3 has many amazing titles on the way that will use all the cell processpr to great effect consequently over-shadowing the Xbox graphical capabilities although it is lacking true great exclusives with maybe just uncharted and R&C

current xbox 360: Halo, Bioshock,mass effect,blue dragon,GOW

current PS3: R&C, Warhawk, Uncharted ,Resistance,Motostorm,HeavenlySword,Unreal tournament

If you would have asked me 6 months ago I would say 360 for sure. (I own all 3 systems and love them all) but now I sort of feel that the 360 may have kinda blown its load (no pun intended). I feel that the Ps3 will get stronger this year and the 360 will grow slightly weaker.

If possilbe I would get a 360 right now and play its amazing existing games then save up and get a Ps3 this time next year when I really heats up.

Sory to all that fanboys out there but Man cannot live on one console alone this generation.

I don't know about that, but it is exclusive to PS3 from day one, and your list is not appealing, find more appealing games. :P

To be honest I stole that list from a thread. I am only familiar with early to mid life of PS2 gaming scene. I have been absent from the console gaming scene for a while.

Well for me, I honestly haven't seen any ps3 exclusives I feel that i MUST have. Xbox has and is getting a lot of exclusives that i would really like to have. Althought halo 3 was over rated, it's still an insta classic and is not available on the ps3. graphics wise theyre both pretty leet so it all depends on the games... i would take the 360 any day.

However this "ball and chain" is overtime taking less toll on the PS3 which is growing stronger with each release until the point were Devs can have all the time they need to create games specifically for the PS3 using allof its power

I'm sorry, ball and chain, I guess I would believ that if the PS3 was able to run 360 mutiplats with no issues, but it can't

The diffrence in graphical power between these two machines is neglible, they have the same amount of memory, with the edge going to the 360 due to flexibility of design, Ps3 can use its cell to assist the RSX with graphics, while the 360 has a more powerful GPU

Look people you can spout crap all day long if you'd like, that doesn't change that fact your spouting innacuracies, try learning a bit about the systems and how they operate before you declare one is FAR superior than the other, because the REAL WORLD says they are about the same

So in conclusion, the PS3 is its own ball and chain, the 360 and PC speak the same language, and you can port games between them, te PS3 is so diffrent that to get that performance out of it requires alot more work, I think in the end, for console exclusive games, it will be made on the PS3, and ported over to the 360, because the 360 is a more flexible platform, and can run the games with little issues, while to ports from 360 to PS3 run into alot of problems., look at the orange box, thats a telling example

As for the TC

I have a 360 and love it, I will probably get a PS3, when it becomes a more viable gaming platform.

Look at the avalaible games, and the trends of the system, its pretty obvious the 360 currently has the upper hand, and the games will keep coming, if the PS3 has a great year in term of games released, then I will want to purchase it more, but for now, go with whats available, the 360 has, by far and away the best titles available for any true next gen system

I've had an xbox 360 for two years now, and the only reason I still have it is because of the games and xbox live. The console itself is complete garbage. I am on my third xbox 360 and I'm pretty sure the third one is about to break. It freezes all the time, constantly signs me out of xbox live, and wants me to update games almost every time I play them. So I'm probably going to end up with another refurbished xbox 360 that will break in another couple of months. Microsoft claims the failure rate is 3-5%, it's more like 50-75%.

Anyways, I just bought a 40GB PS3 last night and am already impressed. The PS store is just as good, if not better than xbox live marketplace. It also has a web browser, which loads web pages just as fast as my computer. I've played a couple of demos, including motorstorm and RFOM. Both are PS3 exclusives and both are great games. The best though, is GT:HD. This is only GT4 in HD, but the graphics are amazing. I can't wait untill GT5Prologue comes out.

I think that as of now, the xbox 360 has the advantage over the PS3 in terms of game selection. But I also think that will change in 2008. That being said, I think either of them are a good choice. I personally bought the PS3 for the games coming out for it in 2008, but also because I was also tired of the xbox 360's unacceptable unreliability. I have owned or currently have the following consoles-NES, SNES, PS1, N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3. I have only had problems with the xbox and xbox 360. Microsoft should be allowed to make such poor quality products. This is definately something I would consider when buying a new console, I'm glad I got the warrenty for the 360.

I would suggest you get the 360 now and wait on the PS 3. Devil May Cry is coming out for the 360, and odds are Final Fantasy and Killzone 2 won't be out until the PS 3 gets another price cut. Haze has been pushed back to August (I believe) as well, and God of War 3 is a 2009 title. So if you get a PS 3 you'll be waiting on 4 out of the 5 games you want for it for the better part of a year.

If you get a 360 now you can get the games you want for it either now or (for Ninja Gaiden 2 and DMC 4) in two months, play them, and if you still decide you'd rather get the PS 3 trade in your 360 around... next August and use the credit towards a (hopefully) cheaper PS 3

Ha ha there is no way I am getting both but now that I think about it, looks like I will be picking up the 360 now. And I will get the PS3 when the price cuts, which will be the point where Haze and all that neat stuff comes out.
