Sweet! Probably will get it but not anytime soon thanks to Brotherhood and possibly Black Ops, plus I think Burnout Paradise will be good enough for now.

Anyway, I don't trust IGN reviewers in general, but this is a Criterion game so I doubt it's going to be mediocre. Looking forward to the Giant Bomb and Gamespot reviews.
I have a good feeling that this will get 9.0 here as well.:) However my purchase of NFS is being pushed back because of Brotherhood to probably next year...:(

I have been thinking 8.5-9 accross all platforms from gamespot. Considering Burnout paradise was a 9.0, blur was a 8.0 and split second was a 7.5... leaning to believe it will be right in there in the 8.5-9 range.
I am not a huge racing game fan, but I thought the demo was fun as hell. The element of being the chased or being the cops will make for quite an addictive experience. If I was not so swamped right now I would definitely pick it up, but it will be a buy down the road for sure.
no steering/wheel dashboard view? WTF didnt the original speed for speed back in 1994 have one? also i hate the wrecks, the camera changing to side view and like cinema mode when u wreck pisses me off

Yh this is a must, its like most game developers forgot about split screen, i blame that on online multiplayer. Blur is really good on 4 split screen
I agree, don't get me wrong I love the ability to play online, but when you have friends over and you have to Pass the controller, they get bored...fast. And a good majority of us actually hang out with friends still, and not just chat online with one another, pretty hard to have a video game night anymore.
But yeah, if it doesn't have Split-Screen, I'll just rent it.

Towards the end of the IGN review, it's confirmed that there is no split-screen multiplayer. I guess there isn't any.. lol, but its all good I have two pc's I can just play over lan, OMG if it doesn't have lan im gonna be mad

How can you compare those. Dirt3 and NFS are arcade racers, GT5 and forza are more a blend of arcade/simulation i was hoping my bias against racing simulators vs arcade would be more emphasized, oh well.
forza 3 is boring as hell, and I highly doubt GT 5 would be any different.

Yh I love playing dirt 2 at max settings 1080p, it looks way better than gt5 and forza. I always found those two games rather dull, and the car sounds are terrible.. almost like vacuum cleaners. Can't wait for Dirt3 ;) Even Test Drive Unlimited on pc looks better than gt5, and it came out in 2006

I think you could understand why people are so excited for GT5 though, being a huge Halo Reach fan yourself. Think of it this way; Kinda like how Reach is one of the most content-packed FPS of all time, well GT5 is similarily one of the most content-packed racers of all time. Scratch that, I'm pretty sure it's THEE most content-packed racer of all time.
this surprises me after playing the demo. I think a 9.0 seems a bit high, which means it'll probably be an 8 or 8.5 here at GS. In the demo the controls of the cars I drove felt very sloppy, I was hoping it would feel a lot like Burnout but the cars in the demo just feel too heavy and unresponsive for an arcade racing game.
