Not a bad score. Better then the last few NfS games at least.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
BS score is BS score. This game is way better than a 7.0 and that's bordering on fact due to the overall quality here.
Wet better than Shift, at least according to Gamespot? This must be an upside down world.
"The bad news is that Shift does very little that other racers haven't done before it, and it excels at nothing."
Bull ****! The sense of speed in NFSS is leagues ahead of any of the other big title racers on consoles. And the cockpit view IS the best on consoles. It excels at nothing my butt!
NFS shift was being compared to GT5 and Forza 3....so yeh its a flop. this was going to bethe first NFS i ever buy, after reading some review i must say ill have to skip this one as well and just wait for GT5 and forza 3
Gamespotted :o Seriously, this game has been getting AA and AAA around the board. Low A feels a little off. >_>IronBass
HAHAHAHA, that's the perfect name for it!
It got "Gamespotted".
I am still going to get this game. I don't really trust GS reviews, I watched the review over at IGN and they really made me want this game so I'll be getting it :)
Please don't bring him up, starting to get sick of the meme already.siLVURcrossSecond. It got annoying really fast.
Where is Kanye?

Hey, EA, I'mma letchu finish, but Turn 10 had one of the best racing games OF ALL TIME!
Yea, this, There were a few points, were it seemed like they were comparing it to what we know of FM3.NFS shift was being compared to GT5 and Forza 3....so yeh its a flop. this was going to bethe first NFS i ever buy, after reading some review i must say ill have to skip this one as well and just wait for GT5 and forza 3

I just started to play it and so far, I have to say I agree with the review. Yes, they know how to make a game look slick and flashy, but there are plenty of annoyances right from the start that left me with a bad impression.
Like... the moment you start the game, your only choice is to start the career. Once you start, you're committed to two races before you have any options to do anything else. No way to back out to the main menu or anything.
Absolutely no tutorial or alerts to familiarize you with the controls. They just throw you headlong into the thick of things. Even the achievements/trophies look as lazy as you can get... awarding only at certain landmarks in your racing career. Nothing for really accomplishing anything strange or cool. Just career achievements like the kind you see in 360 launch titles when devs were just figuring out how they might motivate a player to replay the game.
But.... I'll keep at it. I really like the idea of blurrred vision when you crash. It provides immediate punishment for crashing that affects your ability to play even if all the assists are on and the damage model is only set to cosmetic. And I like the handling of the cars. Like PGR, it strikes a nice balance between sim and arcade.
So we'll see.
Its a failure because you didn't agree with the review? I'd be more suspicious of IGN giving it a higher score when another site has viewed these flaws...sigh...fail of a site....this is the reason i only use GS for general use and not for reviews...
Revolution316
Well that is complet BS...IGN,GT and the rest gave it AA to AAA and gs comes here randomly with its A score....Syferonik
Giant Bomb gave it 3 out of 5.
Edit: Eurogamer gave it a 7.0 as well.
Gamespot has pretty high standards for reviews, so I can't say I'm terribly surprised. Look at the Folklore review here relative to IGN.masterpinky2000then why did infamous and resistance 2 get 9.0? and little big planet? and killzone 2? prolly cause all the editors with non sony bias left and all these new guys came in and were easy to conform to the corporate agenda from gamespot's parent company, which is part owned by sony...
Wow, this game seemed awesome. The actually driving expirence seemed very immersive and fun to play.
I find it funny that it echoes the same sentiments as Eurogamer, Giantbomb and even some of the others sites that gave it higher scores. Mix of arcade and sim but doesn't do one or the other exceptionally well.
I'll see if my friend picks this up and borrow it from him otherwise I doubt I'll get a chance to play this.
Shift gets a 7 and Wet gets a 7.5?....Yea….That sounds about right…:|
I think Shift is every bit as good as any other AA racer… …While I agree with a few points..Other points it seems like he played if for 2 hours and called it quits frustrated that he could not tune/nail the handling down…"Which he did not even comment on how well the tuning is affected by proper inputs"
The incredible sound has never been done in any other game…And IMO they NAILED the cockpit view..How can that be detailed as "and it excels at nothing." ..
Ohh well….

In Justin's defense, he's a pretty big car nut, and every time I've seen him on XBL the past week he's been playing Shift. What the F??! I came back and found them flopping THIS game? This is supposed to be the only EA game I have actually been excited for in a long while.
Oh well everyone has their opinions....:?
