Games found most often on each system
NES -- Home of side-scrolling action games
SNES -- Home of RPGs
N64 -- Home of RARE's games
GC -- Home of Zelda (Wind Waker, TP, 4 Swords, Bonus Disc with 4 Zelda games)
Wii -- Home of Mini-games
Not counting Virtual Console, Wii seems set to be the home of minigames. Compare that to NES, SNES, N64, GC and I can't help but  at how weak that really is. Do you really want Wii's main attraction (other than wiimote) to be minigames?

Your assumptions get progressively worse:
NES- I agree with you completely
snes- sure, a bit of a stretch but theres args for that
n64- your right, but ocarina, majora, and sm64 were the juggernauts. Goldeneye was too, but those are the top 4. The n64 was the console of the juggernaut games of that gen. n64 versus ps1 was king kong versus fighter planes
GC- n64 was the zelda console. The gc was about more cooky games like smash brothers and pikmin
wii- first of all its early in the consoles life. And yes, there are a lot of minigames. It really looks to me like the reason there are so many of them is because they are tech demos. Rayman, wiisports, and warioware especially. those are games that tell you to use the wiimote in interesting ways. Some minigames are great, others are much worse. Those lessons will show the limitations of the wiimote. Those lessons will be used to make deeper games. I still believe that the wii will eventually become the console for shooters for obvious reasons, shooters of all types. At the very least, its too early to judge
