....That after getting a 4.8 on the Xbox360 (IGN), Sonic would sink to a 4.2 on the almighty Ps3 console. I mean, I could be wrong, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say Happy Feet got a better score than that.Feeling proud that I dodged that bullet as a Wii user, I took a test run on the Ps3 version at Gamestop this weekend.
I didn't have to play for 10 seconds to realize why this game got such a pitiful score. The graphics were suffering from what I call Next-Genism (When developers make the graphics glossy and shiney but fail to make them crisp). Back to my first point, I started the level and sittig in front of me was a pile of boxes. What the hell? Isn't the point of Sonic games to go fast? How in the name of Christ am I supposed to go fast if there's a pile of boxes every 3 seconds? The level was slow, painful, and unimpressive. I can't believe how far Sonic has fallen, and I'd love to say Sonic and The Secret Rings will be good, but I won't get my hopes up, thank god it has its own team working on the game. The last Sonic game I enjoyed was the side scrolling "Sonic Rush" for the NDS, it was 2D, and blazing fast, the way the series should be.
