Poor fanboy poor.MasterC5Actually he admitted the 360 is better, however he is now trying to convince himself that he did not waste $600.
So if Microsoft releases this new 360 with HDMI and bigger harddrive, I believe it will actually help PS3 sales. I mean think about it, now a better 360 version will be $480.00, only $20.00 cheaper than a 20 gig PS3. If you think about it, people will be more inclined to get a 20 gig PS3 then the new 360. While the new 360 might come with a bigger harddrive and HDMI. A 20 gig PS3 also comes with HDMI PLUS Blu ray and in the coming months the PS3 will have some great games. The average consumer that is going to spend $480.00 on a new 360 might think twice and think to himself "I might as well spend $20.00 more dollars and get a PS3 with built in blu ray player and already has HDMI" especially if the consumer is just looking for a gaming console and not a IPTV machine. I know if i didnt own either console yet and i was in the market for either a PS3 or a 360, I would choose the PS3 over the $480.00 360 in a heartbeat. Hell.. for $20.00 more i can get blu ray,, why wouldnt i?!? Oh and i forgot to metion, free online.BigBoss577720GB PS3's don't exist here in Europe. So why would anyone want to spend $20 more to get less games and 100GB less space? The new X360, if it exists, serves one purpose, to satisfy the user base which will extensively use the IPTV and download HD content. And don't hate me for saying that your opinion is very flawed, especially when you consider an average consumer has a 1080p TV and HDMI...

I mean think about it. It makes perfect sense, the ones spending $480.00 on a new 360 that dont care anything about IPTV will most likely just say screw it and buy a PS3 for just $20.00 more.. Might as wellBigBoss5777If they don't care about IPTV then they will buy the Premium version.

Please keep in mind that retailers no longer carry the 20 gig PS3. I think it's available from Sony's website, but I haven't seen it for sale anywhere else in a LONG time. So it's not an issue of $480 vs. $500, it's an issue of $480 vs. $600, and the 360 still clearly comes out on top. Also, if someone walks in a store to buy a 360 or PS3, one look at the respective game selections should help stack the scale in the 360's favor...;)

Dont speak on behalf of people that are not in SW or on Gamespot, you DONT know what people want, you dont know what peoples reasons are for wanting to buy the new 360. I am buying it for IPTV, mabey evenbuy 2 of them. I can tell you right now, that price is GREAT for what they are offering & tell you the truth... we dont know the full details. So speak for yourself not everyone else that isnt here to voice their opinions.
I guess I could see this benefiting PS3 sales.
Nothing would help more than a Price drop and some BIG exclusive games though!
Didn't 360 - core and Premium, and Ps3 - 20gb and 60gb proved that multiple SKUs don't work in the console kingdom? lordxymorThey proved the lower end models sell much much less. 20gb ps3 and core 360 don't sell as well. The elite however I think sell well combined with the fact that it's limited edition and comes with a 120gb hd and is rumored to have the 65nm processor that a lot of people (including me) have been holding out for.

20GB is gonna be gone or is being phased out now, it is in canada. so it's $120 different and a $200 different for the premimum.
Interesting how for some reason we are now forced to by the new 360 from what you fanboys are saying.
And i'm sorry kid but the majority of the gaming world does not think about Blu-Ray as one of the biggest reasons to get a system or any format. DVD is far from dead, vhs just died. Sorry you don't get that.
If people like downloading a lot and have a HDTV this version is for you and for those who will use IPTV. For people like me we are fine with our premium sorry but it's true fanboy.
Don't worry though the PS3 will get better just calm down and take a deep breath
People will see HDMI port, 120 hardrive for $480 vs. HDMI port, 60 hardrive for $600. /threadgeist117
I hear the the new hard drive will cost $199+$400 for the original 360 = $600 and still no hdmi and no Wi-fi = ps3 cheaper ms loses :P

Yeah, I might as well spend more money on a system with less games. Good idea there, chief.

Not to mention you can upgrade your PS3 HDD anytime and get more than 120GB for less than $200. Though I can't imagine why anyone would need more than 60GB, hell, 20GB seems fine. Though the option to upgrade whatever you want whenever you want is certainly nice. You're actually right BigBoss, I have brought this up many times. $20 difference between the two systems, people will go for the PS3. You get a blu-ray player for an extra $20 + all the great PS3 games. I don't see how anyone who already owns a 360 could run out and pick up the Zephyr when they may as well just buy a PS3. Also, PlayStation has brand name superiority, so a 360 in PS3 price range = Not good. And the new 360 looks like a blatant ripoff, it's black and has an hdmi port...KeyWii
PS3 is the obvious choice for these reasons and then also because unlike the PS3 that can do 6, the 360 can only have 2 downloads in que at once....
Always trust KeyWii he never lies or misleads and bases his facts / opinion without knowing if what he's saying is true or not. He's always to be trusted

Brand superiority? Than Microsoft? Maybe in gaming, but not in the real world.
And this model in not aimed at people who already own a 360, as there is no reason to buy this new one, since they play the same games.
This new model serves one purpose, to convince PS3 buyers to get a 360, since most people don't care about Blu-Ray (its true, most average people are content with DVD), and there is a larger HDD, HDMI, and a cheaper price than a PS3.

Worldwide VHS is just dying off... It's sad people say BR is a seller in term of options when so many people don't care about it. I'm sure all the mothers and fathers who bought a Wii said...oh wait. but this one has Blu-Ray. My son would die to have that lol
Hahaha, a small percent of gamers worldwide own an HDTV and on top of that the vast vast majority will not be moving over to BluRay or HDDVD or donkeyDVD anytime soon.

Yes brand name superiority, in gaming in the REAL world. PlayStation is a household name. Xbox 360? Not even close. The only thing Microsoft has brand name superiority on is Windows OS. It's not going to convince any PS3 buyer to pick up the Zephyr, seeing as it still doesn't come with a hi-def media player. Can't blame MS for that though, bundling a dieing HD-DVD and upping the price to almost $700 is completely stupid. So the price tags are a lot closer but still lacks one of the main selling points.[QUOTE="ChiChiMonKilla"][QUOTE="geist117"]People will see HDMI port, 120 hardrive for $480 vs. HDMI port, 60 hardrive for $600. /threadKeyWii

Seems ms is trying to turn the 360 into a ps3 after the fact to me. It was obvious that the 20gig was to small for 720p videos on the 360. Also I tried to swap my hard drive on my 260 but it would only see 20 gigs. So ms is forcing users to buy their hard drive unlike sony that allows you to swap in a bigger hard drive.
microsoft said i screwed up and i want the early adopters to suffer from it..i wonder why they even bother to put hdmi..if they said their old xbox360 already support it..lol...lemmigns know the new elite xbox360 is better and worth the price..i feel bad for them..the ps3 will always be the better system to purchase, you get your moneys worth..elementz28
It is better, but since I have had my system for well over a year now, and I have no need for a larger HDD or HDMI, I don't really care what MS makes for a new model, as long as they play the same games.

Hahahahaa
Funny how so many cows bash the 20GB 360 as not being enough and they have the option to get 60GB. But now all of the sudden 20GB is ok.
Mind you the 20GB version is being discontinued. It's erased fro Bestbuy, FS and other stores here in Toronto
